But that’s not always the case. I’ll take Rockland County NY for example. That system is just tuned in so well with site locations and directional antennas. Never an issue on my scanner.

correct. phase 1 always better than phase 2. 500 always better than 700.

Up to this point, that has also been my observation (in general - not specific to NJ systems).

However, that will be highly dependent upon the systems, your location, what radio you are using and other factors.

I've noticed today that comms are running better on Phase 1 & 2.

Still getting a few instances of the unit stopping on traffic but not passing any audio. When it does decode, I do have to agree it sounds better...

Do you have the AGC (on)? Mine is set to (off).

Also, I have delay time set at 3 seconds.

I'm going to turn on my 436HP and see how it sounds. I'm in the Green Knoll section of Bridgewater. The closest simulcast site is suposingly on Grove St in Somerville. This past week I've had to constantly adjust the position to get comms. Today antenna is in original position extended three lengths and it does sound expectable.

I do not believe I have the AGC on for either voice type (will try for giggles).

I use the Comet Miracle baby. Great for Somerset Cty P25 and NJICS, button so good on the 800 smart zone.

Monitoring the 436HP, Region 1, Region 6, Region 3 and Region 5 loud and clear.

I think the LSM issues get better when using a small, low gain antenna...this way the scanner only sees the closest site... LSM issues cured. My 436 works great all over somerset Co with the mini uhf antenna

My 536HP has also been working well on Phase 1 & 2 today. I was up early today, 0430hrs and unbelievable sounds were coming from the scanner. Once it stopped voice comms clear.

The Somerset County system is very intermittent. Some days it sounds perfect. Other days barely readable. And I am located in the south end of Bernards Township by Route 78.

I know that I under utilize my bcd436hp, but I sometime's bring <car,etc> my bcd325p2 w/rs 800 antenna, to do 800 and njics. I also bring my bcd396xt wth sma diamond, short antenna for vhf and uhf, general scanning.

It's something I picked up 4 years ago at the Sussex hamfest when I was doing D-STAR via a DVAP hotspot & wanted a stubby antenna for my old Icom ID-51A. I don't remember the brand, but it's on of the few I've ever come across with a threadbore deep enough to completely cover the SMA all the way to the bottom.

Region 10 on my stubby 800MHz antenna is sounding 100% perfect tonight. My last trip down here in the summer it was horrible.

for a while, north county was all simulcast on Both 700 and UHF. Now, it seems it back to 700 only. Any idea why??

I receive the Union County NJICS full quieting on the Watchung site from my location using the antenna that came with my scanners. But I cannot receive any other NJ ICS site from where I live
