I recently purchased a Uniden BCT8 scanner and I'm having troubles programming a trunking system for the Ontario OPP system. I'm finding the manual confusing and difficult to follow. Any help would be appreciated.

You can still use your BCT 8 for trunking systems, as long as they are not Digital.

For example, you BCT 8 can still be used on the Ontario FleetNet system for Analog talkgroups.

I would also suggest reading over the part about trunking in the manual a few times. It may be confusing at first, but it eventually clicks.

Welcome to the site, let me start by saying ,,,there is absolutley NO chance of me splitting any atoms or designing anything complicated, having said that, i purchased a Uniden BCD996T and was stymied by the manual, i then joined Radio Reference and for a small yearly fee (about $30) i can load directly into my scanner with only a minimun of mouse clicks, its a wonderful thing, my scanner can now be bought used for around $350 give or take depending on the condition, i would recomend one of those in a heartbeat as it made digital scanning sooooooo much easier. There is a member "TorontoKris" who is very knowledgeable with this stuff and hans his hat near Toronto somewhere, he gets some in stock that he resells at a fair price.
Send me PM if you need any help from another newbie
Gary
