I have recently upgraded the computer at the fire station with a Windows 7 home 32 bit machine, and put TTD v68 on it, plugged the audio into the aux port, but it will not run, its just keeps coming up with the audio device not found error, I have tried the mic input, verified the speaker output is plugged in and works, tried running as administrator, also ran debug, just wont start Does anyone have any ideas for to get this working?

I'm still having trouble getting v69a to run. I put it on my live machine and when I try to start the program I have to try 3 or 4 times before the program runs. It does not run on every execution of the program file. I went into doss and ran the debug version 5 times in a row and it worked all 5 times. I went back to my TTD program folder and tried to run v69a 3 times in a row and it did not open on those 3 tries. I went to my v68 folder and tried v68 and it opened first try. Went to my v69 folder and ran v69 and it opened first try. Went back again to my v69a folder and tried 3 times and it did not open. Each version folder is in the same directory.

I tried checking the log file, but there is not a log file for the times that the program does not successfully open. Also, I had copied my config.cfg and remote.cfg from v69 to v69a so the settings are the same in both versions. I removed my config.cfg and remote.cfg and put back the program originals and v69a still does not open on every execution of the program file. Not sure why I am having this issue.

This in running on Win7 pro 32 bit. The program seems to work every time on my Win10 pro 64 bit computer that I tested it on.

Marvin

I've had this problem too. 69a won't run with v68 also running. I have to start 69a first, then v68.

Did you try the 69a alternate build that Andy posted, it fixed my issue.

I'm also curious about this. If the 69a alternate build is working for you, I'm going to go ahead and release 69 using that build. If not, I may have more work to do.

It is working fine, 69a alternate build has started first time every time. I have been running it on my live machine since you posted it, and I have had no problems with it.

Also, I was just wondering why the label of the TTD window does not include the letter of the version number (69a) instead of the plain number (69). I know it was not included in 65c, 65d, or 67a. When I was testing between v69 and v69a I became confused as to which window I had open since they were labeled the same. I had to use the new "instance_id" field to label them so I could tell them apart. Not a big problem, but just wondering why the letter is not included.

HI Andy,

I had a few pages fail last night during their weekly testing. This is the error in the log file.

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<string>", line 599, in mail
File "smtplib.py", line 251, in __init__
error: [Errno 10061] No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it

There would have been 6 or so stations stacked with fire and officer pages.

That error typically means that there is a problem with the email server that TTD is trying to communicate with. It's able to talk to the server, but the server is saying "get lost".

I have had a strange issue show up on TTD68. I run 7 departments off 1 install (all departments on same paging frequency just different A and B tones). I have 1 department that has stopped recognizing their tone pair. I loaded Audicity and verified that the A and B tones have not changed. I have ran the debug to see what tones TTD is seeing, and it is not detecting the A tone, but it is detecting the B tone. My tone tolerance is set for 3.0 A tone length set to .1 and B tone length set for 3. My B tone length was set to 1, but I had the same issue with a different tone set last year and moved B tone length to 3 and haven't had any other issues with the other tone set. The set that is causing an issue now, I moved to 3 B tone as well, and have moved scanner location, as well as reloaded TTD and still having the same issue with the 1 tone set not being regonized. All 6 of the other departments are working as it should no issues. Has anyone had this issue before? Do I need to take the 1 tone set that is not working and move it to long tone instead of A B tone?

can you post a couple snippets from the logfile showing where the No. 1 tone set is being missed and another showing where one of the other tone sets is being detected? It may be an audio threshold setting issue.

The snippet for a successful decode would look like this:

The failed decode will be harder to find but you will need to look for the repeating freq showing it is hearing the tones.

Is the Atone that you are missing a low freq tone? Something around 300 hz? I have trouble with those.

Odd that the system isn't even hearing the Atone but is getting the Btone real solid. Standard timing is a 1 sec. Atone and 3 sec. BTone. How short do you estimate the recent Atone is? Your successful snippet shows only two samples of the Atone. Each sample is 200 ms (.2 sec.)

Changing to a Long Tone won't work because that looks for a minimum of 4 sec. tone length. What should work as a temporary fix is to set both your Atone and your Btone to 1177 hz with tone lengths of 1 and 1. It will decode the first five samples of the 1177 as Atone and then the second five samples of 1177 as Btone. Not ideal, but I bet it will work. As long as no one else in your setup uses the 1177 Btone.

The new Atone as far as I can tell is about 1 sec it used to be 2 or 3 sec. That is an interesting setup for setting both tones the same, and I will give that a try and report back. Thanks for the advise.

In your snippet you have 17 samples of the 1177 Btone. Fifteen 200ms samples would be three seconds. So that Btone is very close to the standard 3 second timing.

On your Iowa Park decode it only shows two samples of the Atone. A one second Atone would normally show 5-6 samples.

In your configuration file, what is your audio threshold setting?

You might also try turning your scanner/radio volume up a little. That might help it pick up the Atone.

You aren't feeding the audio in from a scanner that is scanning multiple frequencies are you?

The scanner only has the one frequency for the fire departments programed in. All the fire departments are paged out on the same frequency. So, the scanner is not scanning, and it is manually set on the channel with no ctcss..its set as open squelch. For all the departments, A Tone Length is set to .1 and B Tone length is set to 3 or 1 Tone Tolerance is set to 3.0 Tone Offset is 0.0 and Audio Threshold is 69.
