I have been having an issue on 73l with SFTP uploads. Very frequently I will find my uploads are not working. I will see my known_hosts file empty or sometimes removed completely. This needs to be in place for my SFTP login to be accepted. Today I had a page at 1109 and there was no MP3 uploaded. When I looked my known_hosts was again empty and it happened to be at 1109. Something in the upload function is clearing out my known_hosts file.

Any suggestions?

Save the file with the correct data.

Right click -> Properties -> Security -> Advanced -> Disable Inheritance -> Remove -> Add -> Select a principal -> Your username -> Check Names -> Read (not read and execute) -> OK OK OK

If it is a linux system, set it correctly and then:

chmod 644 known_hosts && chattr +i known_hosts

I tried making the file READ ONLY before I left for work today and it seems that TTD crashed. Would you think this would lead to a similar result or is there a difference between the two methods?

Try changing it to read & execute.

Sequentially would be sending each user their own email vs multiple users in the same email.

My 22 ZeFFR gateways and four Broadcastify feeds all run on Win 7SP1 with VLANs. For those security people, I have a default block rule and then allow ZeFFR, TTD, NetTime, RadioFeed, YogaDNS, and ScreenConnect outbound with IP limited RDP inbound.

General FYI that should be sticky:

Always run NetTime on your Windows TTD machines, especially if you have a backup instance - (completely free) NetTime - Network Time Synchronization Tool (timesynctool.com) . Getting a few seconds off can cause your backup instances to activate. Thanks to @canthonysmith for figuring that out.

Update-Using Zoho mail. It had missed a couple of pages so I downloaded an app password and it has operated flawlessly since.

Ok here's my solution. I created an account in zoho mail (zoho.com). Simple. Easy. no worries about app passwords, base64. I've been using it since yesterday and so far it has been flawless.

Just curious. Has the Iamresponding app (TwoToneDetect) been rebranded or rewritten as an app called RapidSOS? It seems all the TwoToneDetect pages on the Iamresponding.com web site return 404.
