Just curious. Has the Iamresponding app (TwoToneDetect) been rebranded or rewritten as an app called RapidSOS? It seems all the TwoToneDetect pages on the Iamresponding.com web site return 404.
Andy?

IamResponding redesigned their website so some of the older pages not ported over return a 404 error. RapidSOS is a service on its own, integrated with IaR mapping. TwoToneDetect is still alive and well, just the webpage is currently unavailable.

twotonedetect.net forwards to a 404 page instead of the form.

http://www.twotonedetect.net/ is still up, it's just behind a curtain. Andy is getting paid for his work now and they want your money too. His passion project paid off, we are lucky they are still releasing free versions.

Did you click the link you posted? The page is not found. There is no place on the site to request the download. I can't distribute it, but I can give you their direct link.

Can anyone comment on getting TwoToneDetect running on a linux platform other than the Raspberry Pi?
Anyone interested in these knows they are next to impossible to find in stock.

I currently have one RPi setup running with the latest IamResponding provided image.
It has been several years and many revisions since I started one up from scratch.

I think the architecture may be the issue. Must Linux boxes are x86, while the Pi is ARM. The binary built for the Pi likely won't run on an x86 machine even if it's running the same OS (though I haven't actually tried this). I used to build binaries for x86 Ubuntu, I can look into getting that going again due to the current Pi shortage.

Please make sure it runs on x64 :) All the Debian/Ubuntu boxes I run are x64.

That would be awesome. I like my Pi's for low power home projects. But for a box living in a station IT closet or even a tower site, an LTS ubuntu server install would definitely be desirable. Thank you for your work as always Andy.

Have you tried with the hideous wine?

v74 Available

v74 is now available via the IaR form (website link to the form is still down, I'm not sure when it will be back up). In addition to the release notes below, the email you get after filling out the form will include a link to an Ubuntu x64 build (caveat - it's not been extensively tested).

Please let me know if any bugs or issues.

Andy

v74 Release Notes
  • Uses the longest record time of all tones in a stacked sequence. Previously the record time of the first-detected tone set was used even if other tone sets in the stack had longer record times
  • Change to prevent crash when Norton prevents file deletion
  • Bug fix for exclude times in stacked page sequences
  • Bug fix for alerts that get “stuck” and unable to redetect in case of a crashed alerting thread
  • Added periodic (every 5 minute) function to clear out stuck/stale alerts as backup to bug fix above
  • Fix [mp3] tag handling for consistency in text-only and audio emails
  • Misc. bug fixes

If you don't want to use a service like that, you should consider the FD Tone Notify then. TTD is nice but with it being bought out and no longer maintained, it's probably time to move on or onboard with IaR. FD Tone Notify does run on 64bit rpis.

Just to set the record straight, TTD continues to be maintained by its author, Andy Knitt, and continues to be available for free, non-commercial use. Just three posts up in this thread is a post from Andy announcing release of an updated version (v74) including the link to its download.

My apologies. I thought that was just a reference to the latest, but old version. I'm just trying to help, apparently, my attempts to help are not well taken. I will leave.

@aaknitt any tips to get the Ubuntu version up and running? Any pre-requisites that need to be installed? And does it require a desktop environment or can this be ran headless? I can't seem to get it to run with or without a desktop environment.
