Try emailing the mms phone number from your text alert email first. I had major problems with Verizon and the occasional ATT even sprint.

I sent an email to all my phone numbers first to have a contact in the email address first so it wouldn't be looked at as spam and so far everyone is getting text alerts again

I took a look at your program looks great.

Now My qiuestion will or can your program sit on a frequency of my choice and decode and log all the tones that will be sounded on it ?

Such as a local Fire Dispatch/Page frequency.

Thanks

I know some of you all have had issues with ttd and sprint mms going to XXX@pm.sprint.com. I am currently having the same issue. Most of the pages will not come to my phone anymore, but they always come through email. No issues with the latest version of ttd. I have been in contact with 2nd level tech support with sprint and was advised they are moving away from mms and going to email. The main server that housed the picture messaging service was decommissioned April 30th of this year. They are currently working on a work around for that. Most of my sprint recipents are still receiving the messages just fine, then some are very soprotic. I am also having an issue with some of my AT&T customers recvieving their pages but it says cannot download, message is corrupt. I have found out that AT&T takes the orginal message and resizes it to their standards. Has anyone found a solution to either of these to issues? I am using the latest version of ttd for 6 different departments, with 2 different computers and gmail as the email out. On a side not, everything had been working flawless until about 3 weeks ago...nothing has changes on local end.

For one of my TTD it works 100%, for my Sprint phone, and for the other, I don't get 75% of the pages... Lol

You turned on 2 factor authentication? I dont think that the App specific passwords come up until you use 2 factor.

Somebody that has set this up more recently could correct me if I am off.

Two factor what? Lol

I guess google calls it 2 Factor Verification. It is a process by which you essentially log in twice. Logging in twice is no issue when you are in a browser (but quite inconvenient). Applications on the other hand cant do the challenge response step. So Google created the "App Password" to solve that problem. Basically they are a jumbled mix of letters and numbers designed to be used in only one of your apps you use (an email client for example).

Look here, Sign in using App Passwords, if you need help setting it up. If you are not using 2 Factor Verification then a strong password, some legitimate traffic - like sending a test email manually to each user with responses - to exercise the account, then sending an email through TTD usually works. Other times folks report turning on 2 Factor Verification then doing the App Password helps TTD work better. Try both (you can turnoff 2 factor verification) and see which works for you.

TTD doesn't do any tuning of a radio or selecting a frequency, it simply takes a feed from a radio decoding device (handheld radio, scanner, internet feed, etc.) through a sound card and decodes that. So as log as that radio receiver is tuned to the frequency you want then TTD is tuned to that frequency.

As for decoding and logging ALL the tones, sure, but it isn't that easy. TTD must know the tones used ahead of time to really be of any use. You would have to set up a 'tone set' for each department and group you wanted to log, which could be a lot. Setting up a tone set requires knowing the two (or one long) frequencies that go with which department and associating them in a config file. Then the logs would show what groups got sent out. There should be no problem with it capturing a large number of departments and even stacked pages. Now you could run the debug version and that would log the frequencies that the system captured, along with the voice talking et all, in a very hard to read log file (it was simply for finding errors in the decode process).

What exactly are you trying to do? Capture all the calls to review later, do an audio feed onto the internet, or just see which groups got paged out that day?

issues with Sprint

I just spoke with a technician from level II support and she told me that there has been a change in the format of the address. The original address of XXXXX@pm.sprint.com went with the server that was decommissioned in April. The one we need to use is XXXXXXX@messaging.sprintpcs.com. To anyone having issues with sprint customers not receiving their mms messages 100% of the time, try the XXXXX@messaging.sprintpcs.com. I will have an open ticket with sprint on this issue for a bit, so, if this change works for you, just let me know. Thanks.

Please, let us know if this works for you Steve. As I said, for one of my TTD programs, I am receiveing the pages 99% of the time. And for the other, I miss a good 90% of them.. :-(

Baics of TTD setups (How TTD Works)

I was wondering if could decode all tones on a particular frequency or just the tone frequency entered.

Just the Tone Frequencies entered (assuming i understand your question correctly). Here is a diagram of the setup for a typical TTD deployment:

Dispatch ---> Broadcast radio__| ) ) ) ) ) ) |__Scanner =={audio cable}==> sound card of computer --- TTD.

Two Tone Detect will have a list of tones it is to identify and record:
{Tone 1} A=586.5,1sec B=952.2,3sec | Department 1 | <users to page> {/Tone 1}
{Tone 2} A=782.5,1sec B=689.5,3sec | Department 2 | <users to page> {/Tone 2}
{Tone 3} A=937.5,5sec . . . . . . . . . . .| Department 3 | <users to page> {/Tone 3}
.....

Tones 1 and 2 are standard two tone A/B 1/3 second quick call format (or similar) tones. Each one is tied to a different department
Tone 3 is a Long tone (no B tone, often for 'group' call) tied to yet another different department.

Then TTD just sits there monitoring the audio from the sound card. Then if the audio received matches one of the programed tone sets it will trigger the program to record and then send the recorded message out to the users. If the tones are not programmed into the tone list it ignores them and does not recognize them.

Does that help answer your question?

I am afraid not. But good info thought

I was if I could park the scanner on the frequency I want to so that it will decode all the tones on that might be sounded on that frequency.

So far, not so good....

Well, I changed the E-Mail address for my Sprint on the TTD. I received the page, but no audio files, only the "Dept Page Recieved at 15:35..

Do I need to have it at AMR now? To get the audio files?

Basically: YES. Park the scanner on the desired frequency and then TTD will decode what it has been programed to find.

Many folks take and park a scanner on the one paging frequency for their area and then decode the tones coming in over that. TTD actually doesn't have anything to do with the RF frequency that the pages are being received on, just the Audible frequencies of those pages.

Some folks will use an older radio with an audio output on it (remote speaker jack) and pump that into the computer. Others have setup actual scanners that will bounce between many paging frequencies. My department has a scanner setup to sit on the paging frequency of our county, plus our local talkabout frequency, and feeds that into the PC. I have software on the computer to ensure that TTD never exits so that we can always get our pages. That way if they page us from dispatch or the local "I need more rears in their gear and here" call from the chief we can get them both.

TTD will decode any and all audio feed into the audio input it is set to watch. It only activates, however, if it sees a match in its configs. Program all of the tones you want captured into the software for each dept/group, then park an audio source (radio, scanner) on the paging frequency and pump that into the computer. After that it should just do its thing.

I am going to bet you that the given "<num>@messaging.sprintpcs.com" is text only and not MMS capable. MMS is the message type necessary for the audio files to come though. Based on this page (Email to Cell Phone Instructions - Email to Text Message any Cell Phone) I am going to assume that it is text only and that AMR is not going to come through. The "<num>@pm.sprint.com" one is listed for MMS in that page, so it would pass audio, but that is the one not working. Looks like Sprint users could be in dire straights.

Maybe text only to alert you to check your email?

Yeah- I believe since I've started using the GMail App on my IPhone and iPad, that seems to always check for New Mail, so I could just have it sent to my E-Mail and be a-ok, unlike Apples Mail App, which can only be done at every fifteen minutes. What I don't get, and understand, is for the Co I live in, when I use the xxxx@pm.sprint.com address for myself, I get the pages. But, for the program I have set-up eight miles away, in WI, I don't get 90% of the pages, when everything's the exact same, just a different E-Mail, and Tones...

this has really got me bumfuzzled.....I will be back in touch with sprints tech support prob on Saturday...I just tried the messaging.sprintpcs.com using an .mp3, .amr, and.wav and only got the text portion with no audio..........in general, everyone that is currently having issues with sprint, do you guys remember if these issues started around the end of april???? the time everyone started having issues with sprint would be revelant considering they decommissioned the picture mail server at the end of april.
