I'm not trying to be picky about the test 436 vs 150; but I noticed you used the 436 stock antenna vs 700/800 antenna on the 150.
Did you switch antennas at all?
Antennas: Good catch—I had the stock 436 duck on the left and a 700/800-specific antenna on the SDS150 (the one that came with my 100, actually). We did swap antennas between the two scanners and repositioned them side-by-side, front-to-back, and even swapped steering wheel locations—same outcome every time. The SDS150 held solid voice; the 436 still chopped or completely deaf.

Why wasn't the 436 in scan mode instead of id search mode?
Defeats the purpose of spotlighting simulcast hash. But fair point—scan mode vid could be a fun follow-up. I have no ETA for my next trip to CBus, a steak dinner does sound nice if anyone in the area is offering?
Did you adjust the 436 filter for best error rate by pressing the func button then the volume button then the func button and volume button to bring up the error rate display?
Absolutely—FUNC + VOL to check/adjust error rate is scanner gospel, and I had the 436's digital threshold set to Auto. Setting this to manual could have helped, but in peak simulcast overlap, you're still fighting physics. The SDS150 front-end just shrugs it off better out of the box.

Point of posting this on RR was to let the community know we’ve been field-testing the SDS150 since early April 2025 and I'll assume Uniden engineer's even prior, and the results have been consistent across multiple runs.

If I was closer and you'd bring that 150, we could talk, but it's some distance for me to come meet you there. :)

Do you know what the block diagram is for the SDS150? Where is the SDR chip in the system. RF front end, IF?

It's about time that Uniden America Corporation freshens up their lineup. This is long overdue.

The SDS200E cannot be had "naked" and it comes with all protocols enabled. You can only add the waterfall. The same has happened to the SDS100E that it used to be available in different versions with different protocols enabled but now it's only two versions, all keys installed or without ProVoice. But I don't understand why the need for two version as it is a €50 difference and going to Uniden Australia for upgrade of SDS100E it will be the same €50 to get the key for ProVoice.

I'm sure that Avera will do the same to the SDS150E and only offer versions with all keys installed as you don't buy a SDS scanner and only use it in analog mode. The GPS are of no use as there's no database from Uniden for European countries that could make use of location based scanning and as the SDS150 have a much improved speaker audio then the bluetooth connection seems more or less redundant if only used for audio.

Thanks for reply.Yes you are right. In fact just wonder if the non e & e will become one model to cover all markets. That might be best ?

I'll wait and see what the reviews say for improved sensitivity. If it isn't at least as sensitive as the 996P2 in the 2M and air bands, it's not worth an upgrade to me from the SDS100. Too much encryption to keep upgrading these without a larger benefit elsewhere in the package.
Especially with strong adjacent signals in the same band.

I think you've hit the nail right on the head, Especially for those of us in heavily emcrypted Fla. I have plenty of receivers that do civair, milair very well.
