What place do you all recommending getting it from? I know i have heard bad things about ZipScanners. And i can do the programming myself. Just would be getting the scanner with no upgrades added.
My suggestion to you and others reading this thread would be to put the SDS150 in your cart at Scanner Master, Uniden.com and Bearcat Warehouse to see who is charging sales tax to your shipping address (if applicable at all to your shipping address). Shipping charges are a non-issue with these 3 vendors as they are all offering FREE shipping on the SDS150 at this time.

As an example using my shipping address, only Uniden.com charges sales tax while Scanner Master and Bearcat Warehouse DO NOT. At my 7% sales tax rate, purchasing the SDS150 from either Scanner Master or Bearcat Warehouse would save me $66.50 compared to buying from Uniden.com. YMMV depending on where you are shipping to.

For anyone with a GovX ID, I would recommend buying directly from Uniden.com as you will get a 10% discount which will bring your SDS150 price down to $855.00. I tested this out today with my GovX ID at Uniden.com and my shopping cart price was reduced from $949.99 to $855.00 (plus applicable sales tax). FedEx shipping is FREE at Uniden.com on orders of $99+.
Earlier today, I put one in my cart and applied the GOVX discount and the price was 10% off, but I did not complete the order. Got home from a doctor appointment and it said it did not apply to the product.

I was going to order one now just because of the 10% discount. Now I will wait for a better time to spend so much. Uniden lost an early sale. This will give me time for early buyers to let us know how well they work

Saw this not long ago. Each upgrade is $75.
That $75 for upgrades is if you buy them from Bearcat Warehouse. They, and all of the other dealers, mark up the cost. Uniden's site does not list the upgrades, because to purchase them from Uniden you register your scanner on the MyUniden site. Uniden's cost, on their site, has been $49 for NXDN (or ProVoice) and $60 for DMR. Zip Scanners, in the past, has been known to mark up the cost on the upgrades to $89 each or $99..

Bearcat Warehouse claims it will ship between December 5-12th. How is that possible if the beta testers are still working on it? Can someone confirm if the retailers will really have them by the first part of December?
Uniden.com has the same info posted.

Why anyone pays for someone else to perform an upgrade is beyond me, it's really easy and takes all of a few minutes max.

If I were to get one , I'll wait for the first batch to get run through and the bugs worked out ( they always have them ). Think i'm gonna wait for the mobile to come out. I know it hasn't been announced but it doesn't make sense to upgrade one and not the other.

E-mail from Bearcat Warehouse...taking pre-orders...
Have always had good experience with them.

Zip Scanners, in the past, has been known to mark up the cost on the upgrades to $89 each or $99..

Big difference between a mark up, and being flat out robbed. Buyer Beware.

Some people pay for it when buying the scanner just so its done and ready as soon as they get it. Some people have visual or cognitive issues, and its easier for them. Some people have unlimited resources.

The main thing is the price. Uniden has always been the cheapest. Places like Scanner Master, Bearcat Warehouse etc, sell the key with a slight mark up. The key is the same price whether your having it installed in a scanner at the time of purchase and or buying it for an already owned scanner.

Not everybody finds the key process easy, hence multiple threads asking for help.
