Anyone know if it will be available on Amazon? I've got some gift cards to burn through. Also, can you just pay Uniden to unlock NXDN, DMR through their website after the fact?

Decided to wait. Allot of money for a scanner. The cost is in receiver territory costs. Allot of additional updates on the 150 so hopefully it turns out to be a solid scanner. Time will tell. Good luck for those jumping on it right away.

FYI for those who might not want to pay the full price of $949.99 for the SDS150 right now, Ham Radio Outlet is currently taking Reservations for $35.

Be aware that there is also fine print at that link which states "Due to the shipping complexity of this item an additional shipping charge will be added when shipped."

They always say this for some reason.
Last time I pre-ordered an item from HRO asked about it and was told just ignore it, the item will be shipped free as per usual.

For me at SoCal 818

Subtotal $949.99
Order discount xxxx-xxxx-xxxx − $47.49
Shipping Free
Estimated taxes $88.00
Total USD $990.50

TOTAL SAVINGS $47.49

Think I will just hang on to my SDS100 + SDS200 a bit longer for now.
Out of curiosity, what dealer/vendor was giving you an order discount of $47.49 (which is a 5% discount) on the purchase of an SDS150?

Also, your $88 sales tax (which equals 9.26%) is a killer!

The SDS100 is available through Amazon though from an obscure seller I've never heard of. My guess is the SDS150 will be too but perhaps not right away and I would only purchase this item from a known seller like Bearcat Warehouse or HRO.

uniden 5% discount when you sign up. the sales is actually 9.75% locally.
Now if I order with my siblings address in Moorpark Ca the tax there is 7.25% so comes up to about $967 and change. Still no reason to upgrade my current SDS100 as it will scan the exact same frequencies that I monitor IMHO

Imagine in 2018 you had $699 in your piggy bank. With that money, you could buy a big pile of toys or awesome Uniden scanners!

But prices go up a little bit every year because of something called "inflation" — like everything at the store slowly gets more expensive.

By September 2025, because prices went up so much, you would need $904 to buy the exact same pile of toys or Scanners that $699 bought in 2018.

That means the $904 today can only buy what $699 could buy back in 2018.

In other words, your money isn't worth as much anymore. It lost about 29% of its buying power in those 7 years (that's like losing almost 1/3 of what it could buy!).

What I'm saying: "Even though something costs $949 now instead of $699 back then, you're actually getting extra cool stuff (like GPS, U/Aware app with Bluetooth, a fancy charger, waterfall and more). Those extras are worth way more than the difference of $46 price increas."

So in their opinion, it's still a really good deal! 😊

It is a lot of money, and it isn't. I wanted a PRO-2006 when they came out in 1990. My folks helped me buy it, since I was a high school kid on an allowance. LOL It was $400 35 years ago, so $950 today is not out of line.

Was actually just about to do this comparison using an inflation calculator😀...

Hams are getting more bang for their buck than they ever have but one thing I've learned since becoming one is hams love to complain and kvetch😁.

Plus (not a political statement) there are additional tariffs right now.

Amazon has sold the SDS100 and other models from Amazon themselves. The main thing to observe is regardless who the seller is on Amazon, is if it ships from Amazon. Shipping from Amazon is what gets you the easy return with a full refund and no return costs.

Currently the SDS200 is sold by and ships from Amazon. The SDS100 ships from Amazon but sold by Superior Gondal Inc. During this time of year, returns are accepted until Jan 31, 2026 for most items shipped from Amazon.

I would also suggest Uniden for hassle free return using the ShipSafe option which is $24.25 for the SDS150.
Free return shipping (within 30 days)
If you're not completely satisfied, no worries! We've got you covered. Return your items for free!

I order a lot of stuff from Amazon and that's something I always check, who is doing the shipping?

Well Guys I just placed my order using Paypal pay in 4 which gives you 20% back with your purchase until 12/08/25.
So my total after the 20% is about $774 and ordered using my bro in law address since his tax is 7.25%.

Now we talking. You must activate the 20% offer on PP before ordering. Good luck !!

Damn, I wasn't given this option when I checked out yet it did work for my latest HRO order.

Good luck to everyone else though, maybe the offer was only good for one purchase.

You may have to use the PayPal app, at least that's what happened with me when I applied for this offer, they sent me a link for the PayPal app to my phone.
