Also Excited

Argh! So excited, but it won't run! I'm running Win2k SP4... downloaded the new package and extracted to a new folder. Double click Uniform.exe and I get "The procedure entry point TzSpecificLocalTimeToSystemTime could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll".

Suggestions anyone?

Same Problem only on Windows 98ME

Cheers

appreciative

Rick,

First off, let me say how appreciative I am there are people in the world like yourself who are smart enough to do programming and figure out these things... It amazes me... this new program is very amazing and I'm sold...

I'm gonna hang onto and use the old one for now until the radio controlling capabilities are set up. I listen to a large system and use the priorities extensively.

Thanks for spending your spare time making our hobby MUCH more fun and definitely more enjoyable.

Agreed, I almost hate scanning while mobile these days since I can't glance over at Unitrunker and see the activity! =) I guess the next step is a Unitrunker laptop mounted in my truck.

Thanks again for the great program Rick.

Need help after about 5 to 10 mins running. I always encounter a shut down. which reads "Uniform has encounter a problem and needs to close". This seems to happend on the site i`m monitoring which is the Pinellas county system 1802. What happends is it will pull up another site automatic on the same control channel and shut everything down. also when i go to to close uniform this same problem happens. any suggestions?

I have a similar problem to that. I found out if I leave the main window maximize and for all the popup windows must stay clearly inside the main window borders. If I have one lapping into the border while I try to move another window or a popup window, then it locks up and shuts the program down.

Rick -

Emailed your Gmail account with some data on my latest attempts to get UT running under WINE/Ubuntu Linux. Just FYI.

Voice Following

Does this version do voice folloing yet? If so, how?

When I fire up the old version, my voice radio (780) will tune to a conversation. This one is just sitting there on 000.000 Mhz.

I've got the radio set up as a control radio, and have it's run state set to "Running", correct baud, 8, 1, N... just like the previoius version of UT.

Is there a way yet to either click on an active conversation and have the program follow it, or select it and hit "M" like you could in the original trunker?

Maybe I'm missing something.

Suggestion:

When versions are released that do not support voice tracking, how about adding the suffix NV to the version number?

A Humble Suggestion

As stated earlier, I love the new Unitrunker GUI. However, I think it would be sweet if more detailed control channel decoding was shown in the History tab of the Site window, or perhaps in another tab in the site window. I know that in the older version of Unitrunker, some of this stuff was shown in the log file if you opted to have the program generate one. I haven't played with the logging function of the GUI version yet, but imagine it would be similar. The other day, however, I got to playing with Trunk88 and really love all the detail it shows when decoding, such as when radios request affiliations, when radios are denied affiliations, site neighbors, and other detailed status information, just to name a few things.

Actually, I'd really love to run both programs, and I have, however it will be a major PITA to manually sync all the talkgroup and radio IDs I have identified in Unitrunker with Trunk88, just because I'd like everything that shows up in Unitrunker to also show up in Trunk88, but that's kind of OT for the scope of this post.

Here is something different. I am running the new UT GUI, the older UT, Trunk88 and Treport32. All was using the same audio input.

Why even bother, now that the GRE does it.

Whatever it is that GRE does, since you didn't quote or refer to whatever you're talking about, you might want to consider that some of us don't have or don't want GRE radios.

Not out of a dislike for GRE, but more because I have enough radios already.

I agree the GRE isnt 100% but it works pretty damn good. My radio IDs are on about 80%. Its better than having a program close out with bugs every 5 mins.

Radio ID Display

GRE doesn't offer ANYTHING like Unitrunker... What exactly are you talking about?
I think he's talking about the new firmware update for the PSR-500 and PSR-600, that will display a user's radio ID (and an alias if you so desire) when they make a voice call. Of course, Unitrunker does that, and a whole lot more.

What program are you running? I'm not experiencing anything close to what you describe with the latest version of Unitrunker, and its running on a 433 MHz Celeron with XP SP3. Sounds like you have some serious operating system problems if you're getting critical errors every five minutes.

Unitrunker does MUCH more than offer radio ID's. It's software that you run in connection with a radio.

Radio IDs cannot be aliased on the GRE scanners. All you get to see is the number.
