I have DMR on my G5, and I don't consider it a waste at all, I consider it another tool in the tool box. It isn't my primary mode used on the pager but there are some things I like to listen to on a limited basis and it is nice to be able to easily switch over to it on the pager, rather than breaking out a scanner. But, everyone is different in how they monitor, so I'm not saying you are wrong.
Depending on the area I agree. It's rare i work the town that still uses DMR and honesty to me, in my area i just don't want to loose my main source which the p-25 simulcast.
I agree however, it is absolutely another tool in the box and we never seem to have enough of those. I guess in my case a handful of Motorola DMR radios set up for different things perhaps sways my opinion at times.
I guess it's similar to when I see the weather changing and I switch it to the NOAA weather I have in there.
I didn't mean DMR was a waste in the device but, again in my area, just not what I got my Unications for. If they hadn't come with DMR, I would have not have added it. As always others have different needs and radios to pick from.
