It's sometimes is hard to follow. The other day during the reported drowning (Unfounded). I monitored Spotsylvania Sheriff on Louisa 1 and fire on PS interop 1. PS Interop1 was patched to Louisa spotsy 9. So I think fire was on one group and sheriff on another. Always defetes the definition of interoperability.
I agree. It doesn't help that many times the field agencies don't know how to navigate the channels and zones in their radios, which contributes to the confusion

Received an email from Spotsylvania Schools a few days ago detailing safety measures they've taken and ones to come. The email said they've deployed 200 Harris radios to the schools as of this past school year. We've got five confirmed schools in the database. They're looking to deploy another 200 Harris radios for the upcoming school year, so look for more schools on the P25 system. The email also said that they'd like to add even more Harris radios in the future.

Monitored earlier today: talkgroup 7260. Mentioned "alt ed workroom bathroom." It may be John J. Wright, but will have to listen more.

Three elementary schools found today; see database page for info. I'm pretty sure 7260 is John J. Wright, but still need to listen a bit more. (The talkgroup number also fits with the alphabetical order of the schools.) They seem to be prioritizing schools (for access to the trunked system) that were using simplex before, which makes sense.

So I believe 7370 is Smith Station ES and not Spotswood. 7260 I believe is Harrison Road ES.

I'll listen more on 7370, but I heard teacher/administrator names, and that's what I was using to confirm. As for 7260, I heard an elevator and climbing wall mentioned. Also, the talkgroup wasn't active when the elementary school talkgroups typically are, such as at afternoon dismissal.

So I am not sure if the previous thread about Spotsylvania fire talk groups is still active. I heard units on the radio today, during an active fire, refer to Tac 2 as "Incident 2 Alpha". I will have to find out if something has changed with the designations.

I'm not sure which school 7250 is. I've heard several names - Lackey, McClure, Morales, but I can't determine the school. I'll keep listening.

I don't see those names on the list. I heard Jackson, Ham, Powell, and Richardson. I called it for Harrison Road ES

So I've learned that some F/R talkgroups were renamed and some new ones added to the system. The tac channels were split into an Alpha and a Bravo. The Bravo's will be new talkgroups. That will make 4 talkgroups available for each incident group.

Interesting. What's the purpose behind that?
To be like all of the other NOVA agencies. Stafford does the same. Tac Alpha and Bravo. It gives ever expanding incidents more breathing room on the radio. If an incident needs staging or rural water supply they can move that traffic to an alternate channel to free up the incident operations to the main incident channel.

Gotcha. Makes sense. The channel setup for the NOVA fire agencies has always interested me. Thanks!

7201 and 7211 showing up today. I'm just thinking they are the second channels used by the already listed schools to follow
the matrix
