I cannot hear any traffic on city from police, fire, or street depts. NCDN key is activated. I am using Proscan as I am learning to use it. City zip is 72653. I need some help as I am new to this scanner. Thank you.

And we have an extensive wiki on learning to program these scanners, and you should query YouTube as well. Our wiki is sadly thin on handling NXDN programming though. Stick to the Nuts and Bolts section to start so you start to learn the terminology and some of the concepts


I would suggest moving this thread to the ProScan forum above; you can do this by clicking the REPORT link in the lower left of the message. Make sure that folks know what system you are trying to hear.

Yes. That is the system I want. Bearcatwarehouse did the programming and keys for me when I bought it.
I see that you are trying out ProScan. Can you download from the scanner to ProScan and check the site frequencies. Do they match like in this image? Does the LCNs and RAN codes match?

I did have RAN column, but no numbers. Do not have that any more after rebooting computer. never had LCN column.
Can you check the System Type? It should be 'NXDN Trunk' and not 'NXDN One-Freq Trunk'. Change it to 'NXDN Trunk' in the drop down box at the system level then set the LCNs then upload.

Perhaps download from the scanner to ProScan again to verify that the upload worked last time. It sounds like the control channel is not decoding correctly possibly due to wrong system type.

It reverted back to Motorola system. I checked the box about deleting current setting and now it is the way you posted. Glory be! It is working now. Thank you very much for all your help. Now if I can get my county road dept freq to work.
