But I believe Netcong covers 24 from I-287 to MM 6 and then Somerville from MM 6 to I-78.

I think that's how it's supposed to be, or at least was at one time. Now in practice, Somerville Station just takes everything, unless they give it to Florham Park Police.

But I believe Netcong covers 24 from I-287 to MM 6 and then Somerville from MM 6 to I-78.

Somerville covers 0.0 to beyond I-78 (21.1). The last papers I had has them to the cut at 40.3, but if that's changed, lemme know so I can correct it.

Interesting....I know it’s a PITA to get a Trooper from way up west on 80 to
come all the way down 24. I’m wondering how much Florham Park is covering if you think of all the agencies that it goes through (Hanover, Morris Twp, Florham Park, Madison, Chatham, Summit). So is Florham covering all those areas through this agreement and is it just PD? We know all those FD’s and EMS agencies are very territorial.

Florham Park Police usually takes from the eastern border of their town at Triborough Road just beyond Short Hills Mall all the way to I-287. Hell, on any given day you can find them sitting up there of their own accord doing traffic enforcement. FPPD loves pulling people over on NJ-24 for 39:3-74 (tint). They have an agreement with NJSP, of which I don't know all the details. Morris Township basically never goes up on NJ-24. And Millburn-Short Hills has better things to do.

As to fire and EMS, that usually works by the normal jurisdiction.

Actually Chatham Borough PD and Madison PD patrol 24 regularly. There are multiple cuts and 2 maintenance ramps they use to access the highway. Florham park does not cover the 24 from their border to the short hills mall its split between Chatham and Madison.

That would be inaccurate, and you also misunderstood the post.

Chatham and Madison almost never head up there. You can count on a single hand how many times per year. Again, NJ-24 is entirely the responsibility of Troop B patrolled by Somerville Station in practice. That is because of it's classification as a limited access state highway. Florham Park has agreement with NJSP, of which I don't know all the details, regarding the area between their border at the Triborough Road overpass (beyond Short Hills Mall) west to I-287. Triborough Road is west of Short Hills Mall. They also regularly patrol said stretch of their own accord.

First off I take 24 every single day to and from work and there are Chatham and Madison PD out there allllll the time, funny i actually rarely ever see Florham Park PD out there. Secondly I have received summons on 24 by both Madison & Chatham Borough PD. Thirdly my father works for Chatham Borough DPW as the chief mechanic and they are most certainly on the highway every single day. I dunno about you but I prefer real life experience over something you read on a piece of paper or a screen.

I'd also like clarification on how I misunderstood the post?

Well anyway....Tuckerton Station (Troop C) patrols Port Republic in Atlantic County. Was formally covered by Troop A but was realigned since all other surrounding communities have their own PD now.

Woodbine station covers Dennis Twp Woodbine, Upper Twp & Corbin City.

Troop D has a small sub station on GSP I believe is called Oceanview (or possible Court House) will confirm.

Also, ACE station has a sub station in ACY as they perform security there.

Here’s a question, is 4-Comm responsible for the stretch of 287 that splits with 208? The part is the Mahwah stretch.
