No decoded audio dsd+

Bit of a newbie question as I just got DSDPlus up and running with latest release as of today and piping the audio (VB-Cable) from SDR# in the 70cm band.

Very strong signal nearby apparently coded in DMR. DSSPlus seems to be decoding it fine with almost no errors, but running it all day, I got one 2 sec clip of decoded voice on my PC speakers and nothing for the last 6 hours despite numerous conversations visible on this frequency. Can anyone advise me how to troubleshoot this problem. I linked a screenshot video below of what is happening when I can't hear the decoded voice. At least can someone confirm if dsd+ 'appears' to be working in the video as I'm brand new to decoding? Many thanks.

If you have the latest FastLane release, ditch sdr and vb cable and use the fmpx tuner.

Also says video is private so we can’t see anything.

Sorry, I fixed the video now. Wasn't going to purchase Fastlane without getting a basic DMR decode to work first. The video will show that VB-cable out is being received by DSDPlus. I could try FMPA which came in the free version, but not sure how to find what device # my RTL-SDR is to put in the FMPA command line, using -i1 says FMP(A) cannot open Airspy device (which I assume should work with an RTL-SDR as well). EDIT:using Windows 11

DMR often transmits bursts of data even though there's no actual voice call. Watch your channel activity window and see if a voice call actually shows up. You would also see a history of voice calls in the event log.

And FMPA.exe is for AirSpy, not RTL-SDR dongles. For an RTL-SDR, you should be using FMP.exe for the free version, or FMP24.exe for fast lane. But I really recommend scrapping SDR# for now and just use FMPx.

No, FMPA works with Airspys only. FMP works wiith RTL dongles in the free version.

In your video you are decoding DMR pretty well, very few errors (and probably just related to extreme gain of signal / bandwidth adjustments / etc. The problem is, there are no voice comms happening during that video. When you see BS DATA, it is ONLY data. That doesn't mean it isn't working. It just means there are no voice comms at that time.

thanks, I appreciate the detailed explanation. I’ll look for actual calls and see if my arrangement or FMP work. As I said, I got a brief snatch of decoded voice during one transmission early in the day but nothing since. There’s a 70cm band repeater within about 2 miles of me.
