Lately, I've been receiving NOPD Channel 3 (Third and Seventh Districts) plus the Traffic 1 Channel quite clearly from my base near Ponchatoula, across the Lake. This is highly unusual and I'm very happy to receive the traffic. Only started receiving NOPD traffic this week though I've scanned the system for months without success.
I access the frequencies scanning sites that include Hammond, NO East, Simulcast North, Pan-Am, etc.
Other agencies that come in very clearly include the St. Bernard and St. Charles Sheriff's Offices, Causeway and Harbor Police, JPSO, Gretna and Kenner Police, etc.
All with the issue factory antenna on a Radio Shack PRO-197.
