All over NW and North Central Ohio I have heard CW IDs on AAR 91, but more rarey I see on my NX210 ≪RECEIVE DATA≫ in 12.5 kHz NXDN. I have tried setting my RID to 1 to see if I could receive any data but I couldn't. NS is licensed for MO at 50 watts and FXO at 27 under multiple licenses for this frequency. Anyone have any idea what that channel is used for?

Might be for the grade crossing monitoring system. IIRC they're using 161.565 in Central Ohio for it.

Maybe one day some software authors could develop software to interpret the nxdn data stream being used in rail devices.

Tom, do you know how that system works ???
Does it only send out a signal when a train is going across the crossing ???

I really don't know. From what I've heard it sends diagnostic info out if there's a problem.
