Leesburg - Stabbing

Apparently there was a stabbing in Leesburg this morning. I started hearing traffic about 5:20AM on the Leesburg PD TG 2672 (Channel 3, car-to-car). The person was stabbed in the buttocks and claims it was not provoke. The suspects are 3 Hispanic males. It sounds like he was dumped somewhere near the SafeWay and Roy Rogers on South King St. (RT15 south). He's being taken to Fairfax. It also sounds like they have an idea about a house where this occurred.

I too was listening to these last two incidents as I was getting ready for. This morning I never heard the status of the patients because I was in the shower during the extrication. I thought I heard there were two patients, high speed into a tree and it would be an extended extrication. After my shower I heard Ambulance-15 going in service and then AR-4 and talk of CSI so I knew what that meant.

Loudoun County, Virginia- A single vehicle crash early Thursday morning has taken the life of a Sterling, VA man.

Denis Alberto Sanchez, 34, was traveling home from work on Potomac View Road around 4:30 AM when his 2000 Jeep left the roadway and struck a tree. Sanchez lost his life at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit.

Some time between 2:30 and 2:45 today there was another fatal wreck on St Louis Rd at or near Snake Hill Rd. There was a fuel spill with that so hazmat was requested. VSP is working this one.

House fire somewhere 18408 Lanier Island Square in the Rivercreek area of Leesburg in Loudoun. Fire through the windows of the first and second floors. Report of someone looking out the window on the 2nd floor. Updated with flames through the roof. Op on 6C.

This will be the third major house fire in that area in the last few months.

2320- Units arriving on scene report fire through the roof.
2321 Requesting a 2nd alarm because it's a quad-style townhouse. Second alarm units are responding from Fairfax station 39.
2327- Station transfers are beginning, to include Mt Weather Co 21 going to Round Hill.
2334- Reporting a good knock on the fire on one quadrant.
2343- Still plenty of fire to knock down. And now units that were relocating are responding to an auto wreck at Rt7/9
2349- Getting close to killing it.
2356- 2nd alarm units in staging are being released.

Loudoun has been working a good fire for a little while now in the Aldie area, Box 07-30K. I don't remember hearing a second alarm but with all the units they have it might as well be. The structure is some sort of golf club warehouse. Units from Prince William are on scene. A tanker task force is in action. Wagon-1 is enroute from Leesburg, capable of put on some class A foam. Hot fuel tanks were just discovered so now they're avoiding that side of the building. Ops and command on 6C. Water supply on 6D.

So far units from: Loudoun companies 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 19 and Prince William 4 and 5.
2126- Marks 40 minutes into command. Currently a defensive only operation, the building is fully involved.

Great opportunity to label units on Universal Trunker.

2136- Command moving to 6E. Water supply continues to be a major issue. Loudoun-1 is enroute. Dispatch advises he can send more tankers
is needed.
2141- Request for a second tanker task force.
2146- Tankers and engines from Co 2, 4, 8 and 23 and Prince William 15 are responding.
2200- And so the station transfers begin, to include Frederick Co Truck 5 with six to station 20.

2203- In the midst of all this there a fluid spill in Sterling. Units from 11 and 18 are there and now asking for separate channel, they get 6H.

The exact address is 22680 James Monroe Hwy. Frederick Co MD covering Lucketts & Leesburg stations. Unable to cover station 7 due to too many tankers on the highway.

For the last hour Loudoun and Prince William units have been working a fire that I still can't tell if it's real or not. Most of the comms sound real, but then they say things like someone being enroute in simulation fashion and a truck doing something in a simulated position. It's somewhere in south central Loudoun. I've heard references to Oatlands. Right now they are rescuing a couple firefighters. They're working on 6D, 6E and 6F.

1114- It is training. They've completed suppression and rescue ops, and are now beginning the Hazmat portion of the drill.

Sure are using a lot of ops channels for just a drill.

Loudoun Co.

Not sure what's going on. About 5:30 or so heard units en route to the Harris Teeter in Ashburn off Ryan Rd. They were told to kill the sirens as the approached. Next heard SERT members dispatched. Had a deputy blow by us on RT7. Then the Mobile Command marked en route followed by the Negations Truck. We saw the Mobile Command get on the Greenway heading West towards Ashburn. We took Syclin Rd. from RT7 to Ashburn. As we were passing Tolbert Lane, the Negations Truck was heading towards the Greeway and RT7. As we passed over the Greenway on Belmont Ridge Rd., the Negations Truck was getting off the Greenway. Going towards Briar Woods High School, you could see everything in the Harris Teeter parking lot. There are perimeter units every so many blocks. I tried to get some pictures but didn't want to get too close, get shot or get in the way.

Heard mention of an apartment.

6:30AM - Perimeter units were advised that subject was apparently tipped off by the father. She advised that the car was a Silver 2003 Park Ave. with DC tags. She then advised that this was not to go mobile if the suspect left the apartment; "he is not to make it to the car. Let SERT take him (but to block him if needed)." Suspect is to have dreds.

6:48AM - Suspect walking towards the car now. Does not have dreds but a small afro.

6:53AM - This was the wrong person. They do not have a visual on him. I would hate to have been this guy...not knowing anything that's going on and having someone watching you through a scope attached to a high powered sniper rifle ready to take me out.

7:40AM - More units dispatched for perimeter. EMS dispatched, would give details via land line. Units advised that there is to be no foot traffic.

8:35AM - Sounds like its all over. I was working and missed what happened. Seems like someone was holding a woman and child hostage. They release the channel and all road and foot traffic can resume.

News Release:
Loudoun County, Virginia- A Washington, DC man is in custody after an early morning barricade situation in the Brambleton community of Ashburn, VA.

Loudoun Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 42500 block of Rockrose Square around 4:30 AM Monday after receiving a call regarding a possible domestic situation. The suspect, Craig R. Jones, 26, allegedly entered his girlfriend’s residence. The suspect allegedly had a firearm and verbally threatened the woman and her infant child.

Members of the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT) and the Hostage Negotiations Unit responded to the scene. The suspect was taken into custody without incident shortly after 8 AM. The female victim declined medical treatment at the scene.

The suspect is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and is charged with assault and destroying a telephone to prevent a victim from summoning law enforcement. The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and further charges are possible.

Does anybody know what's going on around Seven Corners? Coming home from dinner I saw a huge load of fire trucks and other emergency vehicles around a building, but I haven't heard a peep on my scanner from Fairfax or Arlington about it.

VSP was chasing a subject on foot for some reason near the airport in Winchester. It sounds like the he got the guy in custody and cuffed, but now the guy went over some cliff or something into a creek bed. The subject is now unconscious and not breathing. 159.985

Location is the area of Airport Rd and Amberwood Ln.

From what I gathered, the Hispanic male had been cuffed and was in the back of a VSP cruiser, detained for drunk in public, (possibly after a crash). The trooper went back to the suspect's car to look for evidence.

In the meantime, the suspect bailed from the cruiser. There were no K-9s available nearby, but one from VSP was enroute. The suspect fled into the woods. About 5 minutes later I heard the suspect jumped off a cliff into a creek (Buffalo Lick Run according to the ADC map book). Doesn't look like much of a creek.

When the trooper found him, he was face down in the water. The trooper started CPR on him and only briefly had a pulse. He was in CPR status when the FD arrived on scene, as well as when they took to the hospital.

They were a few calls for manpower. Ops 2 had EMS command. It took about 15 minutes to get the patient up to the road. I believe the hospital called it (DOA) about 10 minutes after arrival there.

There were 4 VSP troopers on scene when the ambulance left the scene. The VSP wanted Airport Rd shut down, perhaps for the investgation.

Yet another shooting in Sterling, this time on E. Poplar Rd. Several CID and GU units have been checking in on the scene in the last few minutes. I'm not sure how I missed all the initial calls for it. I didn't find out about it until I heard vehicle and suspect descriptions being relayed by VSP. A command post has been set up at the location.

More reason to get a CCW permit.

Received this about 11:15 PM last night on my BlackBerry (didn't turn it on until now):

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is currently on the scene of a triple shooting in the Sterling area.

Around 9 PM authorities received several calls of gunfire in the area of East Poplar Road and South Buckingham Court. Upon arrival deputies located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that the three victims were standing at the intersection when a two-door passenger vehicle passed by them. At some point the vehicle returned to the area and shots were fired from the vehicle. The vehicle is described as being dark in color, possibly green or teal.

The victims, two 21-year-olds and a 20-year-old, were taken to INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

Members of the Loudoun Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the Crime Scene Unit are currently on the scene and a door-to-door canvass is being conducted.

Anyone who has information about this shooting is asked to contact the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 703-777-0475. If the caller wishes to remain anonymous they are asked to call Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. If the information provided leads to an arrest and indictment, the caller could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
