DO1 contributed the incorrect address on the initial dispatch to “call taker error.”
Yeah, I wonder if there'll be an investigation into that. Sounds like a lot of resources got sent to the wrong place.
Final update for anyone who hadn't heard... device was "inert" according to FCPD's Twitter.

For FCPD it’s just the district dispatch channels. They’re the only ones in the clear.
Thanks....
For some reason I tend to just receive a LOT of just repositioning of fire equipment by an automated voice that seems to be designed to be grating to anyone listening.

Thanks
Joel

All Fairfax County dispatching for FD is done via automatic voice dispatch, which is TG 12. All other response traffic is on "channel 4B" or TG 1103, and then there are a ton of tac channels. Police dispatch is clear, all other PD comms are encrypted. Details here: Fairfax County Trunking System, Fairfax, Virginia

15:28 - Prince William County (PD Central District) - Burglary in progress on Maxfield Ct. Suspect kicked the door of a residence and ran out of the house through the backdoor when the resident screamed. K9 and officers responded and requested Fairfax 1, which responded as well. K9 was not able to find a track and no vehicle was known to be involved. FFX1 unsuccessfully checked the area. Suspect was not located as of 1600.

Separately, FCPD has a ton of "Charlie" units in service this afternoon, the majority of patrol units at 1600 are C. I've rarely heard the designator in the past - did FCPD switch to three shifts a day?

Loudoun has dispatched for a garage fire on Russell Rd in the Loudoun Heights area. A tanker task force is part of the response due to the rural location. Mutual aid is coming from Washington and Frederick Co MD.

K626 is onscene with A626 and reporting a fully involved detached garage.
Primary water supply will be a tank at 11762 Harpers Ferry Rd
Secondary is a pond dry hydrant at 12048 Harpers Ferry Rd

1311- Still no suppression unit on scene. K626 is unavailable on a different call. MD units are slow to arrive.
The tanker has been using hand lines on the exposures. Fire may have spread to the attic of another garage.

Something new to mention is that Loudoun's tankers at Middleburg and Loudoun Heights are now carrying one 28' and one 16' ladder. One dump tank has been removed to accommodate this. This is because trucks usually have an extended response and because Loudoun does nurse tanking rather than using dump tanks unless there is a really good reason for a dump tank.

Units from Loudoun and Fairfax were dispatched to Seneca Park and Algonkian Park for a missing person in the water around 9:40. The person went under two hours ago after swimming from the MD side and hasn’t been seen since. MOCO units are lead and have now placed all VA units in service. As of 22:24, no updates.

Meanwhile, PWCPD responded to three shootings into houses today. SWAT and detectives responded to a house associated with a suspect and, with assist from Fairfax 1, took him into custody around 22:10. He is believed to be the sole suspect in all three shootings. Unsure of anyone was hurt.

@freqhopping What was the reference to USSS/Trump on the Loudoun Co system yesterday?

I was scanning MWAA’s system last night when he arrived. MWAA PD’s “David” units were operating on their “Two Echo” channel (TG 108).

This from PAB:

“FCPD is still working under the late 2022 Emergency Staffing changes to two shifts. However, as our data-informed strategies move us to more proactive and effective police work we have shifted a few officers around the county to cover higher crime times and areas (often during evening hours). This allows us to enhance our ability to keep our communities safe.”

Also, do y’all know what LCSO channel/patch covers Trump National? Keep an ear out, he’s expected to motorcade to DC tomorrow.

It was at 1425. LCSO Z211 was telling dispatch that USSS was asking about a firetruck that showed up at the golf club. USSS also asked for a patrol unit to show up. Dispatch didn't have anything showing about a call on the fire side. At 1428 TAC157 came on and said to disregard, they figured it out.

Thanks.

Normally it’s Sterling Dispatch for normal ops in that geographic area. I imagine SO deputies assigned to help USSS are mainly on a fed freq or an encrypted LCSO TG though.

Double shooting on Ridgetop Circle in Sterling. Call went out at 4:30am for a disturbance. When deputies arrived the caller said she had been told someone had been shot nearby. A male and female were located with GSWs and transported; no updates on condition. Sounds like deputies have footage of a possible vehicle involved. Also sounds like it took 2 hours for detectives to arrive on scene for whatever reason. Car to car for the scene were on East Tac 1. No word on motive, etc but it does sound like there are multiple witnesses.

9:01 in Mt. Vernon (FCPD Station 2, beat 210) - Armed robbery was reported at a Safeway. Two suspects fled in a vehicle. Officers now say the suspects said they had a gun but did not actually pull one. Search is in progress. FFX-1 assisting.

1933: Loudoun has dispatched many units for a barn fire on Snake Hill Rd in Middleburg. No animals in the barn.
First units still several minutes out.

1943: E603 dropping their supply line at the driveway for about a 1000ft lay.
Fire is in a small barn attached to another barn.

1953: Knocked, no extension, returning RIT and tanker task force.

Wild night, 0043ish VSP started pursuing a vehicle in the Herndon area then down W. Church Rd into Sterling. At some point the VSP unit apparently plowed into the back of the car, totaling his and taking him out of the pursuit. Eventually the car was found in the Dranesville area and occupants rounded up.

At 0158 Leesburg got a call for a burglary at the outlet mall. LPD located the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop. The suspect vehicle was a 2008 maroon Taurus with a Delaware tag 468130. It continued east on Ft Evans Rd/Riverside Pkwy on the wrong side of the road. LPD stopped following and turned around at Coton Reserve Dr. They were hoping LCSO and VSP would get involved. VSP was still tied up with the incident in Sterling.

LCSO dispatch passed incorrect info to units at first. Said it was Tahoe, on Rivercreek heading toward Battlefield. Wrong direction!

930P local: VSP had a person on the shoulder of I66 main line westbound, who then pulled a gun and apparently shot himself in the head. It’s just west of exit 47 at the 47.2 mile marker. Fairfax 1 helo had been responding but a couple of minutes ago told their dispatch that they were no longer being requested, so were back in service. All lanes of I66 westbound are shut down at exit 47 (route 234) where all traffic is being forced to exit.
