Friday 10/4 will be the funeral for Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company life member and former Chief Tommy Downs. He joined the company in 1971.
At 1300 the procession will leave the Colonial Funeral home on a route that will pass Station 20, then the 1927 fire station where the Medlin Art Gallery is now, then Station 1 and finally the Union Cemetery. The procession will include Red Knights on motorcycles, 1929 Seagraves pumper, the 2019 Pierce engine that was dedicated to Tommy Downs at the time it was put in service, the 2017 Pierce engine, 2024 Pierce tiller and the company's various command, UTV, and utility vehicles. The 2019 tiller and a LCFR truck will hoist a large American flag at the cemetery.
