Hey guys i live in Pequannock, Morris County, New Jersey. Im going to purchase a Uniden BCT8 if my town has analog trunking. I tried to figure out the whole feature of this website with the scanner frequency search, but to no avail i could not figure out if my town was digital or analog i have my doubts on the digital i just want to reassure before i go wasting my money. Thanks in advance

The Morris Cnty TRS has some digital talk groups (probably the more interesting ones).

If your 'town' is carried by the MIRS system, the dispatch is digital (see TG 33344). The mobile units may be analog.

There is no specific listing for Pequannock. It could be carried by one of the PD TGs, so it's hard to say for certain as there seems to be common analog groups.

Pequannock is analog conventional on 453.800 MHz. There is a listing for Pequannock Twp in the RR database.

The County system is Motorola SmartZone trunking with both analog and digital talkgroups. All of the public safety talkgroups are digital.

The MIRS system (Morris InterOp) is on the County system and are digital talkgroups. THis is like SPEN except designed for for towns and county vehicles in Morris County.

If you want to monitor just Pequannock then a conventional scanner capable of UHF is all you need. If you want to hear the County system also and NJSP then a digital trunktracker scanner such as the Uniden 396 or 996 is the way to go.
