Rob,

Unfortunately the NSWPF have decided to move your region to a P25 digital solution, at the beginning there was a patch for analogue for vehicles that did not have a digital radio, this is no longer the case and they removed the analogue access. As a side note the NSWPF are on track with fixing radio coverage to encrypt Coffs/Clarence then there efforts will be on Richmond/Tweed, whilst you still can listen to them on digital it won't last forever

I thought as much regarding the patch but was hopeful since we now receive a completely different area through the same analogue frequency.

There have been rumours for years about when the switch to encrypted will occur with the latest being mid-December. However, similar to the last region north of Newcastle that went encrypted, including previous regions, no media release has been issued yet announcing the switch.

At present the NSWPF has a number of encrypted Talkgroups on the NSWGRN for non-general duties operations. I find it doubtful they will fully migrate GD traffic to the NSWGRN given the capacity issues and special requirements the NSWPF needs.

I also don't see the current NSW government spending the required funds to expand the NSWGRN in a timely manner.

I was of the understanding that the NSW Police Force was the only major government agency that was NOT using the GRN. I thought they went it alone.
