Upgraded without any problems! Everything seems to be working great. And I have noticed that my EDACS provoice system sounds much better as well as several P25 systems here.

I do have one question....In the release notes, it siad something about NXDN conventional works better on Auto and 8 now. I've been using Manual and 8 for everything and just wonder if I should go back to Auto and 8 for everything? Great work Paul! Thanks.

It's the shzz, to be able to track all of these nxdn tg's & systems! Audio is good too
The nxdn option really reawakens the hobby!

For conventional nxdn, is better to 1fq trunk or just plain jane single freq conventional?
Speed factor?

If you want to select TGs, OFT.

If you just want to hear the audio, conventional.

(conventional is generally faster)

I'm very impressed what I've heard so far. 2 blunders on my part. It took me 4 tries to put the NXDN key in..because I criss crossed my 536's and tried to put the wrong key in the wrong scanner.

2nd boo-boo was a programming error. My suggestion for the firmware is when it comes to NSXN programming, replace LCN with Channel Number. I had 15 frequencies in order, 1-15 but didn't hear anything until I ran the analyzer. The control channel has assigned each frequency a "channel number" and all is working great now. I'm hearing both sides of conversations, unlike on my TRX-2 (which will be up for sale...lol).

Another note...when I ran the Analyzer it did recognize and assign a channel number and RAN to 2 known 3.125 kHz spacing channels. These channels were verified by someone who sent me a screen shot via their SDR Dongle.

Thank you to UPMan who has been battling health issues to put this out for us to dabble, and to all the Beta testers who submitted improvements along the way. I look forward to utilizing Sentinel, Pro Scan and/or ARC to finish properly programming. Can't bit** though...I just upgraded 3 scanners for $90!!!

Any word on when the sentinal program for NXDN will be ready? Days? Weeks? Months?
I am not very good at programming via the scanner.

One thing that is MAYBE a hint: Since they have to add NXDN to Sentinel, maybe they will add the color screen options and just use the same Sentinel for both series. After all, if you're going to modify x36 Sentinel, may as well just update it all the way, right?

I have never heard anything NXDN until today and I'm very satisfied! Monitoring just one site here in northern Illinois (because the manual programing is such a pain). Strong 5 bar signal on a site 30 or so miles away. Crisp sound without any hiss. REALLY looking forward to Sentinel being able to handle this mode. Probably the best sounding mode, imho.

Kudos to you, Paul and all of Uniden that have been working on this!

In theory, you should never hear any hiss on any digital mode. If you do it's because something is hissing in the background of the person transmitting.

Just saw my first Private Call...shows up like all other Private Calls. I was in ID Search mode, so I suspect if I put it in ID Scan mode I'll need to enter a talk group if I want to see them? i0?

I can't say enough good things about this upgrade. Blows Whistler's NXDN (won't mention MotoTRBO) monitoring away! Hearing two-sided conversations, LCN analyzer is working well...well worth the $30 per scanner (3 of them).
