Yes, radio motor patrols is correct I know there’s a website that talks about the NYPD about their patrol vehicles but I don’t know the website but I did have the same question you did years ago and that’s how I found out through the website.

RMP= Radio Motor Patrol. I can confirm that as I worked NYC*EMS-FDNY/EMS from 1987- 2011 when I retired after 24 years.

I love threads like these. A question that is answered in literally the very first Google search result for NYPD RMP, but @ff026 was nice enough to answer a mere 7 minutes after the thread was created anyway, and of course every bona fide RR thread needs at least three other members to chime in parroting the same correct answer already given for absolutely no good reason. Keep up the good work, everyone! :poop:

This feels like a college discussion board. "yes I agree with everyone else, using a period at the end of a sentence conveys a feeling that the sentence is finally over."

Human nature at it's finest. Everyone that knows the correct answer wants to ensure that everyone else knows they know the correct answer, even if the question has already been answered. Reminds me of my town Facebook group. Someone will ask a question like "What time is CVS open until". Instead of just contacting the store they ask on Facebook, and then 20 other people will respond "9pm".

Or using the store finder on CVS.com which shows the hours and you'd have an immediate answer. Same thing on this site, people always asking basic questions that can be answered in a 5 second Google search vs 60 seconds to create a whole thread, then waiting for a reply. But my favorite replies are those often found on online reviews, where someone asks a question and inevitably someone chimes in "I don't know" or "Sorry I don't own one" WTF??? 🤦‍♂️

I am only saying this because I care - there are a lot of decaffeinated brands on the market today that are just as tasty as the real thing.
