"...... Bamber Lake FD/EMS" It's probably similar to Squad 49 in Surf City, not an actual EMS squad but an EMS unit run by the fire department out of the firehouse.

Actually they are just a 1st responder unit. Squad 49 has ambulances, squad 59 has a piece of fire apparatus equiped w/ 1st responder gear only.

Thank you for clearing this mess up. I had no idea they even existed or how they operated and was just theorizing when I compared them to Squad 49. Jackson Twp. FD runs a similar operation during the day. 5417 and 5511 run first responder to EMS calls. Thanks again. Now we can put this issue to bed.

I don't think I've ever heard them dispatched except for the "weekly pager test" now that I actually think about it..... :?

I have heard them dispatched a few times. Mostly for MVC's out on Rt.#539. Their brush truck (i beleive that is the truck they use) responds to it along with Squad #23. Lacey EMS will do the actual transporting out in Bamber Lakes. Something to do with the way it is written for the town I was told.

Yeah. I think last year they got themselves a used rig and the town went bonkers so they had to resell it. :roll:

Call tones

hey im new to lanoka ems and i was just wondering if i can put only lanoka's frequency into my uniden bearcat portable scanner? i know that i can put the county frequency in, but i dont want to listen to every call in the county lol.


any help would be appreciated.

They use the same PL as county, you can't. Fortunately, they operate on channels seperate from Ocean County. I have their frequencies listed here. By the way, welcome to RadioReference!

EDIT: What model do you have? The BCD396T has a tone-out feature.

After dispatch, they communicate with the Lacey dispatcher on the PD Dispatch channel frequency, 460.400 PL 100.0. I have heard them on there many times.

I'm assuming when you say "operate" you are referring to them talking amongst themselves, because, as I said, I always hear them talking to Lacey dispatch on the PD Channel.

Yes, but Lacey Township PD Dispatch also has access to their EMS-5 and the Lacey squads use it for everything else.

Lacey EMS-5 is just a channel to say "I am responding to the building or yea send me another rig." I rode a few calls with them and programmed a few radios and they are dispatched on OC-EMS-1. Squad Ops are EMS-5. PD channel for "responding", "On-Scene", "AOR", "AIQ". They keep track of them in the CAD. If you look into their rigs you will see that they have 2 mobile radios. 1 VHF and 1 UHF. Squad 47 that was posted in and earlier post is Stafford Twp. EMS. They have and EMS-5 also that is a repeater and that is similar to Lacey EMS-5. I beleive that all there "responding traffic and so on" goes over EMS-1. The only other squad that I can thing of that switches channels is New Egypt (Squad-30) for when they go into Upper Freehold (Monmouth County) VHF or New Hanover (Burlington County) DTRS.

Upper Freehold is Monmouth EMS-1 154.175, 151.4 Stafford I think is 186.2.

OK, but what frequency does Stafford use for their repeater?

153.815, 186.2. I posted it but half of the stuff I posted gets changed to some wacked out frequency then back to the original one I had posted. So I gave up trying to submitt changes. It is in the DB as EMS-6. Tony you know if you ever had a question on a freq. alls you had to do was ask Mike and he would have gotten it for you and then some!!

Whiting, Squad 43, and I think it was Beachhaven, Squad 14, and maybe 1 other shared the same repeater freq just diffrent tones for the Squad repeater.

I had a whole list of all the diffrent squad channels around and posted what I had but since then most have been deleted or the alpha tags and stuff have been changed on them. From Lacey on south most of the squads members are issued a portable radio so when they get a call they switch over to the "Squad Repeater" and sign on that they are enroute to the building so they will know if they will have a crew for the call or not. Since they have the new "LBI" radio plan in effect I have no idea how that works but when I lived in Dover Twp. I could listen to Beachhaven FAS repeater and hear what was going on. They are pretty busy in the summer months from the end of May till late August for all the "Benny Traffic", no offence there Tony. I think but I am not positive that Great Bay EMS has their own repeater too.

If you have a good antenna on the out side of your roof you can pick up Huderton County on OC EMS-1. (I think that is how you spell it) Their call sign is KYU553. You hear a guy on the radio about every 15-20 minutes saying, "KYU553 Huderton." I beleive it is up there by Lamberville/ New Hope area, the NJ/Penns border. Tony Correct me if I am wrong.

I get Hunterdon County fine down here on OC EMS-1. They use a PL of 192.8 Hz. They come in pretty much 24/7.
