I also receive multiple sites on some frequencies.

Here's a list of sites/CC's from the last time I ran Pro96Com in Sept. 2011.

These seem to go against some of the info in the database, I am wondering if the info has been checked since they "settled" on the current configuration. Any other info I can get from Pro96Com that helps please let me know.

Site 124 is Cobleskill.

For Site 107, I have the cc as 152.1425, which fits the channel spacing.

essex county?

I Am no longer picking nyseg up on vhf-loband on any of my scanners on any antennas... however my pro-106 keeps stopping during limit search on 153.005 and 152.9975 every now and then it blanks out but no sysid or anything... also dont sound like a CC just a minor hiss sound...
dont know if these are control channels and if they are how would i manually enter into a new TSYS as mot vhf/uhf type II or as p25 auto/manual?

It would be P25 Auto. If it is a control channel there should be a continuous digital signal present.

huh wierd cause when i do p25 auto it dont show it as trunking and pro96com doesnt show a decode rate... maybe theres someone from Essex county who might know the freqs... because the vhf-lo band seems like its dead... unless my area has too much lo-band interference... most of lo-band is maxed RSSI so maybe its still vhf lo... guess i will take scanner out with me next time i see nyseg out and do a close call search in lo and hi band...

If you are hearing a constant low hiss, you have probably happened upon a LTR MultiNet or PassPort system. There are one or two PassPorts on VHF High Band in eastern NY.

NYSEG has a pending application for 152.060, 152.090 & 152.210 at Wells Hill, Town of Lewis but no record of an existing High Band license in Essex County.

The P25 system probably is not on the air yet. They have had delays with getting frequencies in the area due to canadian coordination issues.

do you have an fcc callsign for that listing?

There is a new CC on 152.570 active in the Rochester area for the last several days.

It is not Bristol since it is considerably weaker than the 152.8025.

I can get the NAC 260 but other decoding is garbled. Unitrunker is showing random site IDs and other data that are obviously wrong but it occasionally shows site ID 001-043 with channels 152.570 C and 152.0825. That frequency pair is good for Italy Hill which would be consistent with the signal strength.

My reception of the Bristol 152.8025 C that used to be very good is now useless since they apparently added another site on the same frequency. I can still recieve the associated Bristol talk channels 153.560 and 152.5925 perfectly but I can't trunk track them with the garbled control channel data.

152.210 remains an unreadable mix of 2 or more CCs. No other P25 CCs heard in the area.

It looks like 152.570C is Italy Hill. Possibly Site 143.
I am getting some better decoding today and the site channels are 152.570C 152.0825 153.050
It is mostly Geneva TGs 151 and 153 with some occasional Elmira 143 which is consistent with Italy Hill and the frequencies match the Italy Hill FCC licenses.

Unitrunker keeps giving mostly radom site numbers but it has consistenly showed "065-043" when properly reporting channels and activity.

I am going to submit this and if the site number is wrong, someone with better reception can submit a correction.

Insider Update

I received the following email from a reliable source:

NYSEG no longer manages their radio system with in-house folks. They were all laid off two years ago and Motorola is the contractor managing the system, with local sub-contractors doing the site work. A few in-house folks manage the Motorola contractors.

The master control site in Binghamton is next to the dispatch center in a secure facility - all Centracom Gold Elite stuff connected via dedicated physical IP to the master site. The old master site has for all intents and purposes been abandoned in place. Dispatchers handle the entire NYSEG area (no assigned dispatcher to a certain geographical area).

NYSEG is still building out it's P25 system in remote areas such as Hornell, Plattsburgh, etc. But topography in rural areas can be problematic with digital systems.

I don't monitor them - around it enough where it's routine (and boring) hearing it for me. But the talkgroups are pretty much correct - each division having one for electric, gas and customer service (meter readers) for each division (Binghamton, Elmira, Geneva, Ithaca, Hornell, etc... etc...).

Some tower sites are connected to the master site via microwave from Binghamton and Hornell... others are via T1 circuits, and 4-wire circuits for some of the low band stuff way out there in the middle of nowhere.

During a VHF search I located a P25 frequency of 153.7250. While holding on this frequency it displays SID:0269h-0141.

While doing a search here in New York this frequency is shown to belong to Mobiletech Communications. However when I do a search a FCC search for this frequency the only P25 Trunked system displayed is for NYSEG.

Is there a specific reason this this frequency is not listed in sid 6033 or does this belong to someone else?

153.725 is used at two sites for the Mobiletech system, one in Oswego County and the other in St Lawrence County.

As far as the NYSEG system, you've definitely stumbled upon one of their control channels for a site that is not yet documented in the database. What you've found is Site 41 (0141 translates to RFSS 1, Site 41).

Please submit your findings and I'll add the site. It would also be helpful if you could provide some detail as to where you are hearing this site from, since there are three sites on that WQEQ425 license.

I made the submission. Hope I made it correctly. Based on my location in Allegany County the closest tower would be located in Jasper, NY, Steuben county

Thanks for the quick reply!

153.725 is actually only licensed at the Olean site in Cattaraugus County, which according to the map is more or less equal distance from your location as the Jasper site is.

It's certainly possible they're not following the license, but from what I've seen with NYSEG so far, they have been faithful to the licensed locations.

22 miles (Jasper) vs 26 miles (Orleans), to be exact. The Orleans site has an elevation advantage, which could easily overcome the 4 mile difference. 26 miles is a fairly easy stretch for VHF anyway, so I think it's probably safe to leave it as Orleans/Cattaraugus for now based on the license.

Are you picking up any other control channels for that system in the area?
