Sounds like they're going on the IWN. It could just be that they're buying through the GSA contract for that system. Motorola will also commonly include language in their service contracts stating that use of any non-Motorola subscriber equipment will void the warranty for the entire system.

I find it odd that RR Engineers love to jump on Motorola's back for no reason at all.

If you read the article, the State of Washington CHOSE to accept a invite by the federal Government to use it's system.

At no time did Motorola force the State of Washington to make this choice.

The Feds say they have to use Motorola's equipment. Motorola did not make this claim.

If anyone is going to whine, perhaps Motorola isn't he source of your anger here. Go complain to the state. They chose to go this route.
