the P25 system at SFO is P4 or encrypted, you will not hear any transmissions. that whole systems is encrypt. I purchased my PSR800 specifically to monitor this system, only to find out is is 99.9% encrypt

You say you reuploaded your file what did you change? If you modifiedit, post it here.

What you had should have worked. Where are you located?

This thing is really starting to frustrate the crap out of me!! I was in SF again today, didn't hear anything on the scanner...I could see all the ID's/Groups flashing on and off on the bottom of the screen, and signal meter was jumping all over the place, but no sound at all...still says "finding control channel" on all the P25 channels...I'm stuck!! I'm about to throw this thing in the garbage...

I have heard traffic on that system that isn't encrypted

I uploaded the "non-working" file last night (4 or 5 posts ago) Then I did what KMA suggested and turned on all the "quick keys" and group ID's, set it for ID SEARCH and I could actually see it scanning thru the groups and the signal meter would jump to 5 bars, but when I would "HOLD" on that channel it just keeps saying "Finding Control Channel"...I was in downtown SF at the time. I actually live in San Mateo County (San Bruno to be exact) and it does the same thing there. Can anyone verify that San Mateo Countys P25 and SF Countys P25 are able to be monitored with a Uniden scanner?? I know Santa Clara went to Phase 2...

If it says Finding Control Channel, you aren't in range to receive the system or the signal is took weak to get a good download of the data.

You can monitor both San Mateo, SF with your scanner.

Please post what you changed here, when you can, so I can look at it.

For one of the systems, you had it set to scan for talkgroups, but you had no talkgroups stored, so it can't scan for anything, that's one thing i noticed just now.

Trust me, this scanner has a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it will be cake.

Another thing I noticed in the file I uploaded yesterday, in the second and third tabs for each system (marked "Trunked Freqs" and "APCO Band Plan"...alot of them were empty. Do those need to have something in them?

all that was fine

the issue is you don't have the groups activated so it doesnt have anything to scan. thats why you can see stuff when you manually scroll

Ok...I actually went to Redwood City this afternoon, literally a few blocks from their main communications building and it still didn't pick up anything on the San Mateo P25 channels...so its definitely NOT a reception issue. I could still see the signal meter jumping to 4 or 5 bars on almost all the "countywide" P25 ID's which would make sense, since it's broadcast from the government center in downtown RWC. So it has to be something else...scanner settings maybe?

I just looked at the actual control channel freq's listed here...all the ones in the scanner end in "0" and all the ones listed in the database end in "5" ie; 771.28120 is what I have in the scanner and the database lists 771.28125...would this make a difference??
