Weird Problem, while using Search DB for CC I find the channels in range and when I select test selected frequencies, on the 9th frequency no matter what it is the problem beeps, and just freezes up. Any ideas?
Is this an issue with the latest firmware only? If so, try disabling the new option "P25 Reinit" in the advanced tab. Does that fix it? I'll try to reproduce here.

-edit: Yes, can re-produce the issue here. Thanks! I will get it fixed.

Solid TG and Signal, no other lights, and the leds do not do their thing like when you first power it up aftwr init.. i actually noticed when I pressed the button once, after a lock up (while TG was solid), it would blink to indicate holding on tg, then upon a second press the console would start up again, but signal would remain at 0 and the TG light would remain solid... I will try the version you pmed, and ill see if I can get it to do it again.

Trying out the new firmware, added the 2 things on my wishlist, UID's and tones. (y)
Also noticed that from the January version to the current new version the audio has a pretty decent improvement.
Nice work.

Not to get too greedy, but since we now have the ability to see UID's, any chance of being able to give them aliases like how we can name TG's? This unit is already hands down the best value for the money when it comes to monitoring a Phase II system, once that is added, for the majority of uses, a traditional scanner would be obsolete.

Thank you sir! I have been told the same thing by the person who encouraged me to add the UID option : ) He mentioned that I should probably hold back on that until I was ready to provide an alias option. lol. I don't know what the interface usually looks like for that, but I'm thinking a two-column spreadsheet type interface would be good? UID, ALIAS columns?

That would work for what I'm doing, too.

This is an amazing tool for sigint and general monitoring. I've generated so much data already from a week or two of monitoring

That works. Often simpler is better. A simple tab with those 2 columns to enter the data, and allow the alias to display in the talkgroup log and I'd be happy with that. Bonus points if it can display it in the bar that shows what the unit is currently receiving, but I'm willing to wait if that needs additional work.

Question about Trunk Group Priority on a phase 1 system. I have seen Trunk Groups with higher priority not interrupt an active call. For example, a trunk group with a priority of 8 is active. During that call, a trunk group priority of 30 does not interrupt. I know this by comparing the P25RX to a second device. Perhaps I am not using priority correctly?

Question about control channel setup for Tood and the group:

I have 2+ different systems I would like to monitor, but it appears that whichever syatem I flash in as the primary, it seems to stay with that sysid. Is there a way to monitor multiple systems?
For example, 1 system is a single site and the other has about 3 or 4 that I can receive at any given time. With roaming/control channel shuffling enabled, i don't hear traffic from the system that is not programmed as the primary.

Thanks for all your hard work on this, Todd. I think you are on to something with the P25RX.

Thanks. I have all mine backwards then. I will set 2 as highest going forward and give that a try.

Talk Group Priorities
By default, the talk group priority for each individual talk group is 1. With a value of 0 or 1 (the priority is disabled), the talk group hold function works normally (defined using the the talk group timeout).

If the talk group priority value is 2 or greater for a talk group, then the priority is enabled for that talk group. When there is an incoming voice grant, this priority value will be compared to the currently active talk group priority. If the talk group in the grant has a higher priority, then it will interrupt the current talk group hold period. When this happens, there is a "TALK GROUP PRI" string added for that record in the talk group log.

The lowest "enabled" priority is a value of 2. A value of 3 would be higher priority, etc.

You flashed them into roaming flash? And enabled roaming in the Config tab? You should see in the top right of the screen that its switching between CCs.

The problem I had was when I tried to enter frequencies into flash from the online DB lookup.

I had read that when I set everything up to higher numbers having priority.

It appeared to be working. Today I was comparing receivers for the first time and noticed higher numbers not interrupting. I was using version 02-19 1329 , I will now go back an earlier version and see if priority works for me. Thanks.

Yes. I see it checking the CC's that I entered into the roaming flash, however, I don't see it checking all of them. Unless it is going through them faster than it shows on the top right. So in summary, all I am seeing are a few of the frequencies in the roaming flash from one system (designated as primary in the startup config) and neither of the 2 from the second system.

Went back to 01-05 1304.

Priority works for me with the higher values in this version. There are a few occasions where it does not interrupt. I observed far more issues with Version 1329 not interrupting. Just an FYI. Thanks.
