Even with 1304 I can see where I am missing some transmissions on the LSM simulcast 774Mhz system,. the SDS picks it up, the P25 scans right over it and never gets the audio
Try setting the TG timeout to a lower value. The default is 2 seconds. You can set it as low as 100ms. Does that help?

I think its soon, he said he was swamped.
I'm getting closer!

Question. If it’s on a different system or receiving a different channel then resumes scanning in the middle of the other transmission will it see the voice grant? Or will it only see it if it identifies it at the start?
Once the TG timeout period has expired, it should accept the next enabled voice grant. It receives start-of-conversation type grants as well as in-progress type of grants.

I was thinking about this some more. The most likely reason is that version _1304 does not keep track of all the control channel information when the roaming mode is enabled. On a frequency change, it has to receive the base frequency table, nac, wacn, sys_id before it can receive the voice channel grant. This is a limitation that the new versions are addressing. The testing version keeps track of up to 16 control channels persistently across frequency changes. I hope to start working on this again next week.

Ok here was something strange. I was listening to both SDS and P25rx, both had stopped at Dispatch 2 TDGI 11003 but I was getting a completely different conversation on two radios, the SDS was dispatching a company, the P25 was actually getting one of the Tac channels discussing on scene fire. but the display was this. Once the transmission ended and the P25 started scanning again it stopped on the dispatch.

I am aware of this issue with Phase II. I've started working on a fix, but it is not there yet. It is a high priority item on the list of things to fix.

On the missing comms. There were no other conversations going on. I’ll stop roaming mode and see if I miss any at that point.

I tried the new version twice with same result of no audio.

As for the other. Very good. Standing by. Thanks.

I'll make the offer if it will help... I can set up the P25 on the Broward County FL systems, with from one to three systems one simulcast P2, two appear unicast and operating as P1. I can set up a zoom meeting so you can connect and see anything going on you want. email me if interested.

Thank you sir! This was a larger than usual build. I think most people that requested to be notified were probably able to get one today. If not, please send another e-mail if you would like to be notified for the next build. Thank you to everyone for your support today! The receivers will ship tomorrow.

Didn’t want to combine posts. But wanted to report this. Can’t test with any other speaker. If I power it up with an amplified speaker physically connected it seems to power up but the TG led flashes very rapidly and no audio. If I power it off disconnect the speaker power it on then plug in the speaker it’s fine.

Got mine! 👍
Thank you sir!

Any idea in the display? Timing and potential price?
I was planning on having display units available soon. I ordered 25 partially built pcb assemblies (passives installed only) to get started. To answer your question regarding pricing, it was going to be $149. Unfortunately, someone bought up all of the MCUs and audio DACs. The DACs have a lead-time of 52 weeks when I looked around last. Both of those parts are utilized in the P25RX. As I mentioned previously, I acquired what I reasonably could of those parts before they disappeared. The shortage is most likely due to the downtime of manufacturers last year from Covid-19 issues. Once you mess up a chip-producing pipeline, it takes a while to recover. Hopefully the blip in production will pass. In the meantime, I need to conserve these parts for the P25RX. I'm already living on the edge like I imagine many people are. Today's sales are mostly going towards paying down the money I borrowed to buy those chips and related inventory to get through this shortage. I'm very grateful for the support.

I have identified an alternate MCU and DAC that can be used in the display board (after a re-design). The DAC can also be used in an alternate P25RX design if needed. The bad news is that the display boards are going to be delayed. The good news is that the alternate parts will reduce the cost a little (assuming pricing remains the same as current pricing).

This sounds like a potential HW issue that I have not seen before. Do you have any other powered-speaker systems you can test to see if the issue persists? I tried plugging in a mono-non-powered speaker. That didn't cause an issue. The audio outputs are AC-coupled, so I wouldn't really expect any issues with DC. Contact me via e-mail if you would like to return it for evaluation / repair.

Hi no reason to return. No worries. Thanks though. I may be able to borrow a speaker with a jack. But like I said. If I power it up then plug it in it’s fine. I’ll connect it to the computer tomorrow see if anything shows on the console.

Is there a list to be notified of display boards? I was on the p25 list and it worked 👍

Ditto.

Getting a display would be nice but not the end of the world right now.

Had a spare Lattepanda Alpha taking up space. (Who just has a “spare” $400 SBC laying around? A guy with a real bad addiction to x86 SBCs:confused:).

Mounted the Alpha and the P25RX behind a spare monitor. Works great.

Any thoughts on a tab/feature in the software to give a virtual display of the fields that would be shown on the physical display?

I added you both to the p25rx display notification list. I'll get to work on the re-design soon. I'm considering the possibility of making a few of the 25 boards anyway. The issue with that is that some would be stuck with a different version of the hardware if it does get changed. I'll think on this for a few days before making a decision. I need to work on the P25RX firmware this week as I promised I would.

I haven't tried one of these yet, but it should work fine: part# "RPI USB-C POWER SUPPLY BLACK US". Looks like Digikey has them for $8. Obviously, you can get them from many different sources.

For the .02¢ my opinion is worth, as long as you advertised and warned people that getting an early display might end up being a dead end, I don’t see a problem.

I can think of at least 3 products I’ve jumped in on where the final revisions to hardware forced updates to come to a halt for early adopters. Didn’t mean they stopped working. It is what is.
