I personally don’t think I would part with my hard earned cash if I knew it was dead ended in the day I bought it. If support were to be ongoing for at least a year to work out the bugs that would be ok. But just a thought, and I have no idea, can the p25rx get one part and the display another? Regardless. It’s fun to have.

I hear you and totally understand where you’re coming from.
I guess my opinion is formed around the idea that products like the P25RX are not being made by a huge company like Uniden, Whistler, etc.
Sometimes you have to pay to play.
Getting involved with smaller manufacturers can often be a frustrating, expensive, and frequently, a very disappointing experience.
When I bought the P25RX in the early days, I knew in the back of my head that if it didn’t catch on, it might become a paperweight. Luckily, it didn’t and it has a bright future.
The amount of thought/planning and after purchase support for the P25RX is unheard of.

I was able to purchase some parts today. I created a thread specifically for the P25RX Display now that I'm committed to producing it. Lets continue the discussion regarding the display there.

I got mine today and can’t figure the thing out all. Wont let me test selected frequencies and isn’t doing anything as the video showed. I’m lost
What version are you running? I forgot to send out an email letting people know that they shipped with version 2021-01-05_1304. I'm not aware of any issues with the frequency tests. I'll do some tests on that now. In the meantime, if you know the frequency of the control channel you want to monitor, you can enter it on the P25RXConfig tab and press "Write Config".
-edit: "Test Frequencies" is working ok here with _1304.
What version of Java do you have installed?

Thank you sir! You can remove records from the TG editor by highlighting them and then pressing the delete key on the keyboard. If you delete all records, it will create a single default record.

I have to say, I am getting exceptional performance out of this. It is equivalent, if not better than my G4.. Just very impressed so far.

Hey, any idea why it would randomly come up no sig? seems like its my laptop at home, one at work was fine. Weird.
Control channel moving around?
-edit: Is there still communication between the P25RX and the BTConfig software when you see NO SIG? Sill information scrolling in the console?

no, console stops. I can fix by just unplugging, plugging back in. I suspect its my laptop at home. been rocking for about an hour solid tho, no issues. really impressed dude, well done.
The only thing I noticed is if you manually enter a frequency it won’t enable the test button. But scan a zip code it enables the test button then delete all the entries and enter the one you need to test. Hope that helps.

I wont get mine until Friday. I will be testing on the KSICS seven site simulcast northeastern KS and MARRS northwest MO.(850 MHz) There is a military base in 380 MHz range, and a Fed Prison in the 406 MHz. I frequently travel to south of Springfield Mo. with a bunch of 150 MHz DMR.

Unit arrived today. Spent a little time today monitoring my local P25 public safety network and the audio quality is exceptional. I'm looking forward to trying some DMR and other things.
I like the ease of use. Getting up and running was a breeze and that's something you don't come across often these days.

@btt I'm suddenly hosed. It was working fine.. Was going to write new talkgroups from XLS file, never got there, couldn't connect from windows10 PC which has worked in the past. USB says Com5 device couldn't start device. Console won't connect, keeps trying .Unplug replug goes back to Com5 and says can't connect. Tried reload by holding button after start up, checked firmware, says up to date, I uninstalled Com5 device plugged P25 back in identified as Com3 but would not complete a configuration. The Console screen shows all gibberish characters. tried another USB port.. worked once but when powered up the sig light would go out and the TDIG was flashing very rapidly... wont connect back to the console now.. and the USB-c will not insert all the way.. :-(
