Todd.

I deleted the two entries I had been using with and cleared the roaming flash and manually entered the two freqs . Its working now (with the old stable release).

For what its worth I tried the factory reset but it saved all the configuration data somewhere. I'll try updating the FW and see if I can get it working on the latest release.

Update, running newest FW since about 7am EST, stand-alone mode off USB batt power, still going, no lock ups.

Observation, when first booting up after a power down, I get the rapidly flashing TG (yellow light) sometimes, can correct by just power cycling the device. Not sure if that means anything.

Really great performance on the P25rx over all, glad to be on board.

If it is only the TG led flashing (not SIG and TG), then it should be indicating that it is following a talk group.

I hope to have a new release later today that will address several Phase II related issues.

The weird thing is the yellow flash is upon startup, even before signal light comes on. Not a huge deal really. Running on most recent FW, using RPI power supply, and audio over Bluetooth, working great.

That is strange. I found that the "follow TG mode" would get out of sync in the BTConfig software when updating the configuration, so the latest BTConfig software disables the follow mode on configuration. There might be something wrong with that new code. I'll see if I can reproduce it.

New version available:

  • Major improvements to Phase II decoding (02/16, V _1417)
    -Disable Encrypted Audio output
    -Only output audio for the talk group currently being monitored.
    -Use the MAC_PTT_END signal to return to control channel.
    -Utilize MAC_HANGTIME signal to stay on voice channel during silent periods.
    -Add UID to TG Log.

I have been working with him in testing this version out. I was having lots of trouble with reply transmissions coming through sounding as if they were encrypted. After a couple of weeks and very long email thread, I can say with confidence that this version improves Phase II decoding significantly! I've been running it on 3 different Phase II systems for the last 90 minutes and not one garbled transmission, even on a system with only a marginal signal strength. If you were having any issues with garbled transmissions, this is the fix!

I saw similar but attributed it to the usb connector issue I was having.
You should have the return tomorrow. I miss it already. 😞

@phillydjdan , thank you for the patience, support, testing, and feedback on this one over these past weeks! Also, thank you to @dcr_inc for his help and feedback testing the Phase II changes today! This is a big relief for me!

I will get it repaired and back to you quickly @epersson !

They are normally private but I had setup that one server temporarily. It's since been changed, that's why you can't access it now.

Todd:

Is there an option to ENABLE audio for crypto channels in the new vesion? I'm doing some SIGINT on a unidentified crypto user on one of my systems and it's useful to hear the encrypted traffic (female vs male voices, different voices in general.). I also have had that TG drop into clear twice this week and I wouldn't want to miss it.

Edit: THANK YOU so much for unit IDs.

This release is working great for me on my P2 system. The UID's are amazing to have. I will hereby formally make my request for having encrypted audio enabled as an option. LOL It now doesn't get passed to the TG log. It's nice to be able to log crypto TGs to see what's in use at what time and what other TGs are being used at the same time :)

I added an en_encout option to the "Alt Testing" version 2021-02-16_2049 (not tested). To enable enc audio output, issue the following commands:
$ en_encout 1
$ save
Let me know if it doesn't work.

Todd, thank you so much. I will be buying a second receiver when the next tranche is available.

Thank you sir! I noticed that the "auto disable encrypted" talk group feature was broken while testing version _2049. This hasn't worked right since whenever the SYS_ID column was changed to hex format. It should be fixed in "Alt Testing" version _2141. Can you verify that the 'en_encout' command works correctly to disable Phase II encrypted audio output when it is set to 0?

Looks good. It disabled the crypto tg that I'm following, wouldn't come up on the TG log at all. Re-enabled the option and it came back up.

Thank you for verifying that. The "Alt Testing" version is updated to _2214. This version allows enable/disable of the enc audio output in the advanced tab.

Testing the most recent, it's really doing well on CLMRN P2 LSM today. Audio is nice and clear too.
