There is definitely a recent change. Both Unitrunker and Pro96Com have been showing data from a variety of RIDS on the Devault and Philly VHF sites. This coincided with the Troop K stations going live on the system recently. I've been busy and have not been able to pay a lot of attention, but I have seen the same things recently...frequent queues and "data" transmissions showing up on the logging software.

Troop J and K both have APX portables in full time use.

I believe cars have both Opensky Mobiles and APX but I’m not 100% on that one.

Fair enough, previous decoding of the system showed no data capability, but that could've changed recently. It's easy enough to tell, both Unitrunker and Pro96Com will show the system capabilities. Look for Pro96Com to say "Voice, Data, Registration" and for Unitrunker to show Yes for Data on the site info page.

Yeah, I need to investigate further and take a look at those parameters tonight. I was not home last night.

And for those using DSD+, take a look at your DSDPlus.P25data file. You should see channel entries for sites noted as VOICE DATA. If you're seeing multiple channels with DATA capability, then clearly my post from early this morning no longer applies!

DSD+ users need to update that site file.. :)
Users of DSD+ will also note the quickly flashing activity in the CC CH window that appear with L/O and quickly are gone in a flash w/o anything reported in the Event window..... Followed by those data trans. activities that have been observed...

I'm hearing clear voice on Lehigh 05, I keep missing the damn TGID though. Just turned on record after the second time (I know, it should be on all the time). 5 digits starts as 12***.

Weird stuff. Whatever these data transmissions are they are on every site that I am able to receive. Mostly on the "voice" frequencies. The Philadelphia site is a steady stream on all three active channels (154.755, 155.505, 155.670) effectively knocking it off the air as per it's neighbors.
Maybe this system will be mainly a computer based dispatch/respond type deal with voice channels as a lesser used option.

Burn-in/stress test ? Opensky patch ? Catastrophic failure ?

Wonder what they're up to ?????
PSP use the radio network as backhaul for their MDTs, at least in areas where they do not have LTE/cellular service for their air cards. PSP also uses OTAP (over-the-air programming) and OTAR (over-the-air rekeying) to update their radios via the RF network, and those operations will generate Data calls.
Data is always FDMA; only voice is TDMA on a P25 system. There are no slots involved with FDMA.
On a Motorola ASTRO25 system, there are two categories of data service. There is "conventional" data service, which only works on FDMA channels, but there is also an optional enhancement called High Performance Data, which can use a single TDMA timeslot.
There’s no way to decode those data transfers right? (A dsd for data?)

Typically, these data transmissions are encrypted (even on systems which do not use voice encryption), so you wouldn't be able to view the data even if you could decode it.

I was referring to IV&D, not HPD, which is a different animal altogether. HPD is 700/800 only using 25 kHz channels, so the VHF sites are clearly not part of an HPD overlay.
