Today I was listening to the Pasco County EDACS system which carries the Schools bus dispatch talkgroups. It appears they are in the process of moving to the P25 system. Some users sound digitized already on the EDACS system.

13-051 on EDACS is being simulcasted to P25 as talkgroup 5102 unfortunately with full encryption so far

School bus talkgroups so far would be the following

East 13-050 - Unk
NW 13-051 - 5102
SW 13-052 - Unk
Unk 13-053 - 5105
Unk 13-054 - Unk

These are confirmed by listening

Totally ridiculous to ENC except for some TAC channels! Including the rest of the County.

Well it seems a lot more quiet on EDACs today School buses are gone , and I’m not hearing FD dispatch either and pulse point doesn’t seem to be listing many calls today, anyone else hearing anything at all?

The pd & FD been encrypted for a few years, I don’t know why encryption on school buses & FD, it makes no sensex
Yes but FD automatic dispatches were going out over EDACs and non encrypted just a few days ago. Now medical calls are not being shown pulse point either all of a sudden.

One of the public information officers for Pasco stated that they're evaluating what's pushed to PulsePoint. Basically, reminding that the purpose of the app is to notify the public when a CPR responder is needed.

And as it was told to me a long time ago when the encryption started... just trust them. If there were anything going on that you need to know about, they'll let you know.

LOL...

I think encryption is the default now for new system, unless agency specifically asks otherwise.

I was told by one of the fire rescue chiefs that the issue was that Sheriff's Office calls (Mutual aid) were showing on Pulsepoint and the Sheriff's Office didn't like that very much so fire rescue had restricted all calls other than commercial fire, structure fire, vegetation fire, traffic collision, and outside fire until they can fix the issue where Sheriff's Office calls no longer show on the app. I reached back out again a couple days ago and was told that they had a meeting with the Sheriff's Office and Pulsepoint and that they have one more meeting with the Sheriff's Office and hope to have the program back up and running with the changes in 2 to 3 weeks this was on December 7th. They also just recently renewed their Pulsepoint contract to go all the way to 2026. I believe the only change we will see is the Sheriff's Office calls won't show anymore on the app whenever it is back up. Hopefully, the app is back up in 2 to 3 weeks if not i will be reaching out after the 2 to 3 weeks asking what is going on with the app.

The thing is right now they have medical calls turned off on the app and those CPR alerts are not going to come through if those are turned off so the purpose of the app is kind of defeated until they fix what's going on. I could be wrong there but when I reached out to Pulsepoint I was told they weren't receiving the medical calls so I don't believe the CPR alerts are even coming through right now.

Since you seem to have intimate knowledge of what’s going on, maybe you can explain why Pasco Fire is completely encrypted even though no other Tampa bay county is.

I heard a Marine rescue call between Pasco and Pinellas a few months back. It sounded terrible on Pasco’s end. So maybe having everything completely encrypted has affected their interoperability on the radio , at least sounds like it. Have a few encrypted talkgroups sure, but completely encrypt everything when you rely on mutual aid a lot does not make sense. Sorry just my 2 cents….

From what I was told in the past the sheriffs office had something to do with the fire rescue encryption and it was for “officer safety concerns”, don’t know the full story but that’s what I was told in the past. It seems the county’s full plan is to hide everything eventually at least with the trend that has been going.

Pulsepoint doesn't work half the time anyway. I listen to FD disp. on EDAC's many calls are missed. Apparently Pasco SO patched to Hillsborough and Pinellas SO is OK?

What do you mean by on EDACs that many calls are missed ? FD dispatch on EDACs is no longer.

I don’t believe they are permanent patches. Something has to be set up by both dispatch agencies. When a patch happens sometimes the primary talkgroup on Pasco’s system becomes non encrypted. Same thing happens when other agencies use private calls on Pinellas’ system.

They want to encrypt SO fine but all of Fire Rescue, all of public works all of the busses ? That’s ridiculous and other counties who are around us who are much busier don’t use full encryption. Ever notice that news being reported out of Pasco is much less now, probably what they want….

FD Computer Dispatch on EDAC's works just fine listening to it right now! ( 12-052 )
The point I was trying to make is when they do a patch with Hillsborough and Pinellas its all in the open.

The other day automatic dispatch was not coming through on EDACs for some reason. My bad thought it was still this way did not realize it came back on

What equipment do you use/is needed to listen to pasco computer dispatch system? I use to listen on broadcastify but unfortunately the streamer no longer broadcasts anymore.

Thank you, how well does the BCT15x work? I live pretty much right behind one of their radio towers so connection shouldn’t be an issue I believe.
The BCT15X works on the Pasco EDACs fine , but with everything moving to P25 phase II that scanner would not be recommended. Who knows when the automated dispatch will move over to P25.
