Appears the pasco automated fire dispatch is now on the P25 TRS and not encrypted. It's phase 2 P25. Anyone else been able to monitor it? The audio is certainly better quality that the EDACS TG. Also the sheriff and fire dispatch side is not encrypted right now. (units still using encryption). Maybe just during the storm?

Same here. Started sometime late last week (possibly friday) Automated dispatch, along with all S.O/fire rescue dispatch channels are open dispatch side only. I could see it being just for the storm so if catastrophic damage occurs citizens can listen in. Who knows.
I listened to it for a couple days the volume is way to loud and sometimes garbled! I avoided it and went back to EDACS.

Is the automated dispatch still open on P25? It appears this morning around 6 AM the EDACS talk group went quiet. I know it’s not a connection issue as I have five bars, plus just a few weeks ago they put the automated dispatch on P25 so I figured it would be coming soon. But I just wanted to get clarification if they’re still streaming on P25 and ain’t encrypted before I dish out $400 on a new scanner.

As of right now, All Fire Dispatch talk groups are unencrypted dispatcher side only, Along with SO Dispatch talkgroups. Also, when TGs are patched together it is fully unencrypted. (Heard FHP and Pasco on Saturday involved with a large party). I am unsure about Automated Dispatch but as of a few days ago it was unencrypted. I feel like the Automated Dispatch P25 quality is worse than EDACS. but that's just me.
I am surprised about Pasco's decision to partially unencrypt these TGs.
I’m surprised to, as it doesn’t seem they are becoming more transparent at all. Hopefully it isn’t temporary; but guess we will see. With the EDACS, my connection is usually 5 bars but the voice does get quite static during the day, maybe P25 could fix that. Thank you for the information!

I was going to tell you to check the feed on broadcastify but I noticed it was down. Not
sure if you are the feed provider or not? If you are the provider please try to not stream them and give them another reason to encrypt everything again if possible.

Exactly. Putting all the details/broadcast out there is what gives the county reason to encrypt. I wouldn't advertise everywhere everything going on, or that they unencrypted. It is a blessing that they decided to unencrypt the talk groups in the first place.

P25 Comes in very good, right across from Station 17. The Automated dispatch sounds kinda crappy. but SO and Fire Dispatch WEST sounds great.
Thank you for the info! Figured I would ask before I made any $500 purchases down the road, probably will wait a while as I just don’t trust that they will leave it open and I don’t want to waste my money. But I also don’t trust Pasco in general lol, been lied to even about the stupidest things by many different people in the gov, from questions about construction (station 17 being one of them), to questions about stuff going on in the community, quite ridiculous, and I’ve honestly learned to just do research myself, but hey, the people of pasco just keep voting in these same people who constantly lie.
For P25 streaming, I strongly believe that would just be dumb to stream that, with that it’s all just a click of a button to encrypt so at that point they would just be throwing away their money to buy the equipment to do that, plus the guilt of ruining it for everyone else. Personally I’m not concerned with the analog automated though, that’s been being streamed by like 4 different people over the past few years, I believe since 2020, maybe even earlier. I’m surprised to hear about the automated dispatch on P25 being crappy though, figured it would be better on digital. Maybe that’s why they’ve left it on analog five years after they switched everything else over.

Did Pasco encrypt again? I see my scanner stopping on Dispatch 2 (East) but not hearing anything.

Yeah I spoke too soon, I guess my reception is spotty atm from Thonotosassa.
I did see a new 31xx unidentified talkgroup with CAD voice dispatch but I'm not sure if it was one of the cities or PCFR.

Probably 3106? That is also one of the newly unencrypted talkgroups. CAD Dispatch for PCFR I believe. It also does announce when Port Richey and New Port Richey fire gets calls.

Well it appears Pasco Sheriffs are back to fully encrypted. Interestingly enough this is right after they just had a deputy involved shooting death.
