In searching licenses today, I came across this license for People's Gas, and I am confused on what the emission type is. It seems as though this an encrypted system and not monitorable?

Any help would be appreciated.

People's Gas Trunked system license WPFP891

Without programming it in as a trunked system (meaning - just program in conventionally), program in the six frequencies on the license and then listen for a constant 24/7 control channel. If you don't hear one, you are either out of range or the EDACS site is no longer online. If it is still online as an EDACS system, then the current control channel (and they do change) would sound like what you hear in the link below.

It is the same one. Apparently Peoples owns Equitable. And, the data on the Peoples license matches the site freqs listed on the Equitable Gas trunked system in the DB. WPFP891 is the PIttsburgh site under a Peoples Gas license. WPJP432 is the Bealsville site under an Peoples Gas license.

And they certainly could have changed to something other than EDACS, but nobody will ever know unless somebody actually finds a control channel on one of the licensed freqs and identifies info.

I believe that Equitable Gas is now a part of People's Gas. It seems as though I am out of range of the site, being the output is only 90 Watts.

So i've monitored all the freqs on the listed equitable gas and the people license. Since hearing nothing I believe they have shut off the old EDACS system that I have heard years ago. The last meaningful submission was from 2007. There was one after but just call sign changes.

I am proposing to move the equitable gas listing to deprecated status as there is no monitorable control channel like the previous edacs system had.
