My post was not correct, it was based on earlier information however FAA states there were only 2 people on board. Sorry for the confusion.

I don't know about that, they might be wrong, if it's a child then at least the mother or family member would be with them, you're going to need a nurse or doctor and you have two pilots. We'll have to see how that pans out, they may be the ones apologizing for the mistake.

Post was deleted as the FAA X post said two, but link I posted above says 6, which is what I originally heard.

Sure seems like a catastrophic structure failure, wing snapped off etc.
I'm sure investigators will analyze debris field locations for evidence.
Walk that flightpath back during the day tomorrow.
Sure been a bad week for local area aviation :(

From the videos of the actual explosion, number one the jet was speeding straight down at high speed, almost seems like two explosions, one after another, I'm going to guess that the natural gas source that was ignited was probably the second larger explosion, it's over six row houses now that burned, jet fuel spilled over Roosevelt Mall. Many cars on fire.

If no one else passed away on the ground that is a miracle as again on a Friday night that particular area of Northeast Philly is very very busy with restaurants, movie theater, the mall and rush hour traffic. If there are no other fatalities, that is a miracle.

They reported that Medical plane was a Leer Jet, and was fully loaded with 7,000 gallons of Fuel too.

I did listen for a while over Broadcastify and I understood the Incident Command Post was near the Former Gimbel's building, but the Media last night was staged at the Former Sea Food Shanty. From what I have seen on TV, it barely clipped the old Merit Station. I'm sure glad that I don't live near now, I just imagine being on Patrol with Tacony East Boulevard Town Watch, because that would be a nightmare dealing with vehicle traffic being re-routed off of Cottman Ave. When I was on Town Watch, I've seen tragedy, but from what happen last night, what I've seen wasn't as severe. Of course, Tragedies no matter what scale, I'll say the ones I've seen was a picnic compared to this. The worst tragedy I've seen was the Crista Lewis murder at Russo Park / MAC Field. 11 May 1995.

None of the news reports I have seen mention the plane hitting a natural gas line.
I'm not surprised to hear that but to give you a quick layout of the area. Large commercial area of box stores, movie theaters restaurants and a main thoroughfare Roosevelt Boulevard that goes into Broad Street and City Hall out to the suburbs in Bucks County. It's also very residential with row homes.

The main utility provider for these homes is the Philadelphia Gas Works, PGW. Also it hit a row of six row homes, don't know the total of structures destroyed but it's a lot more than that.

I guess there's no need for me to mention that TV news sources are not the most accurate sources of news.Screenshot_20250202_120407_Chrome.jpg
