On my Pro-96: I have Philly fire Freqs (Zone 1) and talk groups in one bank, and Philly police Freqs (Zone 2) and talk groups in another bank. I have the Philly bank(Zone 2) in open mode so it picks up unprogrammed talkgroups, and lately it has been picking up 03792, which is North Fire, a Zone 1 Talk group.

The programming is all correct, this has been checked. So does anyone have any ideas why the Zone 2 Frequencies have just started picking up a zone 1 talk group?

For interoperability purposes, Zone 1 (PFD) will also pick up PPD bands J, T and M. That is also for municipal law enforcement (sheriffs, warrant squad, etc.) who use Zone 1 to have access to police radio. Zone 2 (PPD) will pick up the primary fire and medic bands. The belief is that in a major event, police and fire could communicate on each other's zone.

Thanks for the quick reply. Makes sense - just weird it is just starting on my scanner and I hadn't changed anything.

BTW - any chance Lancer252 means you graduated from Central?
