I manually programmed it, can’t I just turn off location control? So I now have it ID searching with clearly a data signal but no reception is that because of location control?
Just turn off location control for the list you have it in. For location to work, you have to have the details filled in for both the Site as well as the Department containing your talkgroup(s). Remember that if instead of manually creating the system, you append the system from the main database in Sentinel, then it will have all the location details needed. (That's presuming, of course, that the Department is in range.) If you are seeing the data signal (bars for signal strength), then either the talkgroup is not active, or the range specifically for the department is too low for it to be active at your location. Since this will be the new system, as users switch over from the old EDACS system, then you would not know they are active until they're added to the database. So, I would suggest that you run that system in ID Search mode instead of ID Scan. ID Search will catch any active talkgroup as long as it is not set as Avoid, nor is it in a Department that is set as Avoid.

I barely here any traffic, and no new IDs found, does Attenuator on make a difference? Right now it’s on.
So if I understand correctly the whole Bend EDACS system will be transitioned to the P25 P2 system that Port A is now on, making it necessary to have a P2 capable scanner?

Has something changed with the Port A site? I stopped hearing them and than they suddenly appear again, are they testing another site?
