Okay; thanks! One of these days I may have to break down and purchase a newer scanner. But then again will it be worth it, especially with PD's deciding to encrypt?

BTW, Still have the one I got from you. Does MUCH better with simulcast than my original. Using it now with me to monitor Indiana SP.
From what I remember, ever since it came online, everything I’ve got is Phase 2

Sounds like Fire has switched over, everything is Phase 2. Now sa good time to catch RID’s as they are checking all the portables

The signal is much much better in Churchland, was hoping there wouldn't be simulcast distortion

I'm hearing extremely distorted audio as of today on the scanner page. Has the Portsmouth PD switched on total encryption or is only impacting tactical channels?

Not hearing any encryption on the main PD channels
It stopped after I heard a few beeps and the scanner went offline. It definitely sounded like encrypted chatter with only Fire Department chatter remaining. I have it recorded and I uploaded it to Sound Cloud. The audio recording happened at around 3:55am. How long the encrypted chatter lasted before then, I don't know since I was sleep and only awoke to that distinctive sound.
