Dinwiddie awarded a contract to Motorola for a stand-alone system in May of 2020, the contact was signed January 2021. It's not yet live.

Dinwiddie talk groups are on the new radios in PG for interoperability but I'll have to look next time I'm there to see if it's still the old UHF. Dinwiddie talk groups for Fire are in blue on this chart. I never listened so I wouldn't know about it much.

US Park Police Eagle helicopter went to Dahlgren on Friday night for a medevac of a burn patient. Dispatch wanted them to use Statewide EMS to communicate with NDW Engine 28, but for some reason, they said they couldn't get it, so both Engine 28 and Eagle switched to Charles Co 10A3 (after some issue with Eagle not having Marine Channel 10A12, only regular 10A12 in their radios).

That's interesting that they worked out a comms plan literally on-the-fly that involved a third-party jurisdiction, in this case Charles County.

Re: Dinwiddie, the radio consultancy Federal Engineering presented two options: a stand-alone 700 MHz P25P2 simulcast system, or a shared core system with VDOC / Sussex that utilizes essentially the same infrastructure design as the stand-alone option and would save about $1M. I'm not sure what option was selected but note that the consultant's report states that the Sheriff's department desires encryption for their operations - no surprise there.

After running SDR longer it seems 101 or 301 don’t know which one are PGPD. 202 is on the fire side to that must be Tac 1.
