I see several models support "Private Systems"...


Supposedly it's only available via "software". Any idea of what software they are referring to? A quick glance couldn't find any reference to that feature in ProScan, but I may have missed it.

So I have owned all of those scanners, years ago as opposed to recently and I remember what you are talking about and never gave it a thought.🙂

Exactly what would be the benefit, advantage or plus in using this option? Just curious.

It’s a flag in FreeSCAN. I haven’t tried it with newer models, but I remember it working with the BCT15X.

An example would be programming it for use by employees who have no need to know how it a scanner works beyond turning it on and pressing HOLD/SCAN (examples being patrol vehicles for allied listening, newsrooms, tow trucks, etc.)

Thanks for your response and that explanation, it makes sense, I just focused a pretty intense search on just the 15x firmware updates from Uniden and didn't see anything, of course, doesn't mean a thing.. thanks again for your reply and explanation.
