I'm new to this object oriented programming ... my previous scanner was a Pro 92. So far this scanner has been very easy to manually program with the help of this forum & the easier to read manual. And the duplicate feature is absolutely the greatest thing since sliced bread!! It's been easier to program than the Pro-92. Of course I'm still working on my 1st p25 system so far. :)

Now on to my question ... From my understanding if I don't use the Wildcard ID the scanner won't pick up any talkgroup ID's not programmed in the for that trunked system .. is that correct? So I shouldn't have to program in all the talkgroups I don't want to hear. For example, encrypted or local school bus talkgroups. Or do I still need to put them in & just lock them out? It be a time saver right now not to enter them .. until I get a programming cable & software.

Just want to make sure my assumptions are correct since you know what they say about assuming.

Great .. thanks! That's what I needed to know. I figured I'd leave the Wildcard in there but lock it out & then when/if I want to hear those talkgroups or find any that changed I'd just unlock it.
