actually for your information, I had sold a pro-162 & when owner recvd it, got message on scanner when powered on that says "All channels locked out". I accidentally replyd to my own forum. We are all human & we make mistakes.
Seems to me that the "fix "you sent is one of the things that can cause the symptom he complained about. I guess it depends on what kind of "reset" he actually does. The reset described in the manual will clear out all frequencies and the scanner will report all channels locked out, unless he follows the final two steps and restores the 150 preprogrammed frequencies.
To fix that the person will have to program in some frequencies.
