I am sure all of you are getting sick of hearing this but here is a other newbie. I rec a nice Uniden scanner for x-mas and loved it but it does not have trunking so I went on line and purchased a refurb Pro-163 and the USB cable and installed the ARC300 software and studied the manual and did a lot Google ing and I understand radio’s and what trunking means but when it comes input like talkgroups . So here we go all I what to do is put in were I live Pasadena,Tx. The local police - Radio Ref tells me 2 difference things on frequency’s on this page Harris County, Texas (TX) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference, tells me 154.01000 and this page tells me Texas Wide Area Radio Network (TxWARN) Motorola Trunking System, Metro Houston area, Texas - Scanner Frequencies give me a lot of them all in the 800 mhz range with data I think with no talkgroups unless I am not looking in the right place also found a ref. page with groups Texas so all I am asking is if I what to put PPD in my scanning software what do I put and a little of why
Thank you

The info you want is found on the TxWarn link you posted. You'll want to put in the control channels for the Pasadena towers, which is listed toward the top of the page that comes up when you click that link. Further down is a listing of several talkgroups for the Pasadena PD. I've not used ARC300, so I'm not familiar with its operation, but here's what happens on the software that I use, and I suspect the ARC300 is similiar:

First, you go to import, choose trunk systems, and log into RR through your software. Then, you will choose country, state, and county, which in this case if of course USA, TX, and Harris County. After you've done this, there will be an option for which system you want to import, and there you'll choose the TxWarn system. Then you will be presented with a list of transmitter sites to choose, and this is where you choose the Pasadena towers. Then you should see a tab of some kind where you choose what talkgroups you want to import. This is where you'll find the Pasadena PD talkgroups. Choose all of them, or just the particular departments within the PD that you want. Assign these to a which scanlist you want them to be on your scanner, then then import the info from RR. Finally, you'll then upload this data to your scanner.

Hope this helps.

I downloaded ARC300 to experiement with it, and have imported the Pasadena PD talkgroups and site frequencies and saved it as a file. If you'll send me your email in a PM, I'll email you the file and then all you have to do is open it in ARC300 and then upload it to your radio.
