hey i was wondering if there was any settings, in the system that allow you to select certain calls like from a fire department, say you only want to hear the engines and ladders in your district and ambulances? is there a way to set this up? this manual is no help, i am just learning by error.

If all you want to hear is the ems and fire then you can lock out all the other talk groups but the fire ems
if you loading from software you can select that there the only talk group to load

easy thing would be to load all and then just lock out the talk groups your not interested into then later you can just unlock them instead of redoing the program

You're definately going to want to get the programming cable and one of the programming software packages like Win500. It made setting up different scan lists for the same TSYS easy as pie. I have mine programmed for my local county system with police in SL1, fire in 2, ems & hospitals in 3 and just to cover my bases, a wildcard for it in SL4. Can just activate or deactivate at will.
