pro 197 setting

What is the best setting for pro 197. I am getting interfirence from a casino and it gets really bad where i cant stand listening to it. Im listening to pottawattamie county ia

Is this a conventional freq that is being interfered with? If so perhaps putting on the PL or DCS setting will help cut this down. More specifics please best regards...Mike

No, Mike. It is an analog trunked system that is close in frequency to the P-25 Iowa ORION system. The casino (analog system) is interfering with the state system. He had his radio programmed at the shack. It has been suggested that he get the USB programming cable and download Win500 to program the scanner. Other than asking the casino to stop transmitting:roll:, I don't know what can be done. He's had this problem since buying the scanner in October. In one of his posts he has a YouTube video. It has been suggested that he use the stubby racing duck the shack sells, and attenuate the signal. He hasn't gotten a lot of help from the Iowa forum either. Cubspack is very new to scanning and is not quite sure what to say in his posts to get the correct answer to his problem.

find the pl tone for the department that you are trying to listen to. Also try using the att button, but the pl tone should solve your problem.

Is the casino extremely close to him,or are they using high power? I would think the ATT would help with his problem?

He is monitoring trunked radio systems. Not VHF/UHF conventional frequencies.
