Found a Pro-23. No manuals anywhere. From my limited abilities I figured out how must of it works but get errors everytime I program a channel. No manuals so I don't understand what im doing wrong and I have tried and so has my father long before me. This radio has been sitting for a decade lol

Frequency range:108-174 / 406-512 / 806-824 / 851-869 / 896-956 MHz
the frequencies have to be in those ranges. there is no 700Mhz coverage.
you could try 162.475 as that is the NOAA radio frequency for that area. (if manchester is the NJ one)
that is a good test to see if there are other problems.

Years ago Radio Shack had an online support page for many of its scanners. Each radio had a set of FAX documents that duplicated the information in the owners manual. The documents for the PRO-23 are attached as a PDF. This should allow you to program the radio.

Thankyou so much. I was unaware that radioshack still had a support page. I didnt even think to try. I went using other sites with no luck. This will help me immensely.. it will also help me determine if there is a software issue once I am finally sure I was going about programming channels the right way. Have a wonderful week

Suppers. Thankyou. Im quite aware especially being since it states as much directly on the box the radio is packed in. I also bought a Baofeng uv-5rm. And have and no issues programming it which is just another reason I think there may be a software or faulty hardware issue. By reading the manual another responder to my post has graciously supplied me with, will assure me if im programming right or wrong so ill once and for all know if the fault is my own or this vintage radioshack scanner. Have a wonderful week. Thanks for the response
