im trying to program a new 651 scanner and keep getting nothing enabled message and I cant figure it out.i would appreciate if anyone has run into this before and could tell me what im doing wrong.thanks

Depending on your software, to enable a scan list/lists, on the main page place a check mark in the box next to the system/systems you want to monitor.
Or, press the number keys from 1-0. It will do the same thing.

When you turn it on and after the welcome screen finishes does the unit show "SCANNING" with either dots or numbers below it? You have pressed the "SCAN" button correct?
The default scan list is #1, is number 1 showing on the screen? If not what numbers are showing?

This tripped me when I first got my 197 (same radio), it's sort of in the "too simple" category. Just press the number of the scan list you put your stuff in. That enables it. Press the number again to disable. I spent a couple of hours wrangling with it before I stumbled across the answer. Big facepalm!:roll:

well it says its scanning and the 1 is the only number on.i put all channels on 1. I don't know what I did but I got one channel to pick up but its not receiving anything else.this is a lot different than the pro 96.

well its only picking up like 1 talk group my pro 97 is still pickikn up stuff this one isn'i don't know ill get it figured out lol thanks alott.

Under where it displays "NOTHING ENABLED" you have two rows of dots correct? If so, simply press 1 if you want Scan List 1 turned on, press 2 for scan list 2, etc..
