Pro-92 problem programing with computer

I am trying to program my Pro-92 with a radioshack programing cable 20-047. While uploading from the scanner to the program works fine and it reads all the information from in the scanner but when i put in the new stuff i want to program it does not stick in the scanner. I put everything i want into the program and start to rite to the scanner and everything seams fine. When the program says it is complete i dissconnect it and turn it off and on again and it still has the old programing in it. Any ideas?

I us a ICOM r2 programing cable with a stereo to mono adapter on the end to the radio.This cable is serial to stereo type.

station32, are you using the mono plug on the end of the cable?

I am using what was on the end it is stereo it has the three seperate contacts on the little plug thing do i need a mono one

Yes, the Pro-92 requires the mono plug.
